He's actually closer to Jimmy Stewart's character than to the other three distinguished gentlemen. And he's about as fictional as Jimmy Stewart's character. I wonder why he didn't lump himself in with Malcolm X as well.
I came up with 2 endings for the last reel:
1. He is holding state troopers at bay by wildy thrashing at them with his desk name plate when they shoot him with a tranquilizer dart and thow a net on him.
2. He is holding state troopers at bay by wildy thrashing at them with his desk name plate when he falls backwards through the atrium of the Thompson Center and land 16 stories down in the food court.
This and the last post have been two of the best I think you've ever done. At least the funniest. Anyone that mentions Geraldo and The Rock - nay, actually SHOWS The Rock - makes my day every time.
This is my favorite moment from The Rock, though:

What happens when the Illinois senate throws him out on his ass? Are state troopers or Federal marshalls going to have to physically remove him from his office?
I'd like to see the Obama administration try to get a handle on corruption in state and local governments. I think the potential savings to taxpayers from finally getting waste and graft under control would more than cover the expense of beefing up Justice Dept. to take on these slimeballs.
"If they can do it to a governor, they can do it to you."
Tape me discussing extorting kickbacks in exchange for naming someone to a Senate seat?
I'll take my chances.
that life would be sadly drabber if and when he is incarcerated. I for one will look forward to his release from prison. What a clown indeed.
Certifiably bonkers in that he's still trying to follow the Bushco/Goebbels propaganda playbook - repeat a lie loudly and often enough and it becomes the truth. Sadly for him, he doesn't realize that the Democrats never were and the newly-reawakened general public is no longer gullible enough to respond in the desired manner.
Now, if he could only get Rubaugh to jump on his bandwagon and put him on, and the folks at Weasel news, he might make some headway but, alas, he's a Democrat, so they fear they'll get cooties if they talk to him, and in the current environment the most they'd be able to get him is about 30% support anyway.
The ones who need to reflect on this are the citizens of Illinois. They keep electing these guys.
You really think Illinois politicians are ELECTED?
You obviously don't know how we do things here in Illinois! Somebody should make a family tree of all the politicians, complete with extra branches for their "Outfit" connections.
Blago is corrupt. Illinois has got to get rid of him. But he sure is fun. His self-comparison to famous political prisoners and feedom fighters was a hoot. Oprah for senator? Why would she take the demotion? His Dondi haircut (a long-ago cartoon of my youth) is always worth a chuckle.
The ones who need to reflect on this are the citizens of Illinois. They keep electing these guys. Not that I have a lot to be proud of. I voted for Eliot Spitzer and can honestly say I was shocked when I heard about his transporting a hooker across state lines. And now David Paterson is showing he may not be up to the job with his botching of replacing Hillary in the Senate. What is it with these governors?
The Illinois Senate impeachment trial is a joke. He's accused of selling the Illinois Senate seat yet can call no important witnesses to refute those claims. Look, I think the guy is crooked and have always thought so, but I don't trust the legislature here in Illinois any more than him. Whether he stays in office or is impeached, it's a pretty sad spectacle either way.
Oh course, it happens hundreds of times a day. If you're arrested for a crime that has anything to do with the quality of your work, you'll be out of a job immediately. If a teacher gets arrested for child-porn, do you think they get to keep their job until their trial is over? If a fireman is arrested for arson? A nurse is charged with euthanasia? Employers, in this case the legislature of the state of Illinois, obviously have the right to fire someone for cause without following all the rules of a criminal proceeding or waiting for the outcome of one. The procedures in this impeachment process are far more accomondating to the accused than any normal employee would ever get in a similar situation.
They can impeach me??
Bastards!
I bet he's making A LOT of politicians very, very nervous right now. He's not crazy, he's a genius, and he just knows how to work the media and get what he wants.
So far he's been very successful in making Harry Reid look like a racist douchebag, as well as exposing the Illinois Democrats plans to raise taxes. Nobody had Blago's back, so he's going to take them all down with him. Wait and see.
Oh, and I recommend reading John Kass' columns in the Chicago Tribune for a good look at what's really going on.

Can we stop the coverage of Blagojevich and usher in a new era of responsible journalism. Maybe, there's an important story out there, and if there isn't, let us enjoy the silence.
"I'm talking to Americans to let them know what's happening in the land of Lincoln. If they can do it to a governor, they can do it to you."
Its BEEN happening to us. Its the rich and powerful that tend to get away with their crimes.
...because I can't wait for him to go away, forever. The only funny thing about Blagoevich is the way Jon Stewart always says his name as Jerry Lewis would, in one of Lewis's old comedies. For some reason we always laugh our asses off at that.
