A new beginning

At Barack Obama's inauguration, the contrast between the outgoing Bush administration and the incoming one emphasizes a break with the past.

The letters thread is now closed.

Now that was a first-rate Bitch-slap

I would love to know what w thought of those words. Oh, never mind. I forgot one should never use any variation of think and w in the same sentence.

Would it kill you...

to use a damned spell-checker once in a while?

Red pencil marks all over this bad-boy.

Impressons

Obama's speech was moving...to be expected. Rick Warren's invocation was exceedingly mediocre and a purposeful poke in the eye to others of different beliefs. It was like listening to my fat, stupid next-door neighbor brag about his car. Mercifully, the real American Royalty, Aretha Franklin, followed and got the bad taste out of our mouths.

purple = color of royalty?

While this is true, remember that in very recent times, purple has also been heralded as the color of bipartisanship. I'm no fan of the 1st president Bush or his wife, but I thought that this was an inspired color to wear--not red-state, not blue-state, but purple to represent the hopeful blending of the two. It seemed like a deliberate choice, and it was fitting for such a momentous day.

As the GOPers said 8 years ago

The adults are back in charge.

Proud Moment

The fact that white folks still voted for Obama when they were alone in the booth - contrary to the expectations of many - shows that America has come a long way. There is no country in the world that has the resilience and courage to embrace change like this great nation.

The Honors Society

Today marked the last days of frat boy politics and the beginning of the Honors Society Administration. an administration that doesn't fear intelligence like the plague.

Someone said the adults are back in charge. I'd contend that this administration is what happens when the honors society is put in charge.

I'm sure...

That W had no idea he was being talked about. He was too busy pouting that Obama's inauguration had a much much larger crowd than either of his.

Now, when HW explains it in the plane on the way to Texas, he'll be pissed.

Camera actually cut to Bush during these statements.

It did on CNN. I don't know about any other networks.

No reaction from Bush. I'm not sure he's smart enough to pick up on these things.
