Na na na na, hey hey, goodbye

The crowd in D.C. breaks into an impromptu raspberry for the outgoing president.

Pity?

For Bush? I don't think so.

Did anyone else raise eyebrows at a couple of the more inclusive lines in Warren's invocation?

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 08:54 AM

Absolutely beeeeeautiful!

Perfect! Wish I could be there myself. I'd be singing right along. Ha ha ha hahahahahahahahahahahaha :D

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 08:56 AM

Thye shouldn't have done it.

You give a ghost power when you notice it. Best just to ignore it until it goes away.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 08:57 AM

Wish I was there!

Ah well. Don't let the door hit you in the ass, George.

There's little forgiveness or pity for him.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 08:57 AM

Offensive Invocation?

Is it my imagination, or was that the least secular invocation cramming someone's view of religion down our throats I've ever seen? How offensive was that!

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 08:59 AM

Not Classy But Sweet

Bush totally deserved it. Too bad I missed it.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 09:01 AM

Let him have it!

Best just to ignore it until it goes away.

Oh, HELL no! The Bush Error is at an end. This is OUR time now. This day has been a loooooooong time coming and Shrub needs to be told at every available opportunity just how much we are going to revel in his absence. Let him have it! The man cannot be publicly humiliated enough.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 09:11 AM

Heh that is GREAT!

No one deserves it more. With the Bush Bubble, I wonder if that was the first he's heard he.... kind of SUCKS? Anyway not to shill my site some more but if you want to send off the worst President ever in your own words, please do:

Is this the same guy...

...that thought it was funny to show a film clip of himself pretending to be "looking" for WMDs in the White House at a press dinner?

He's lucky it was just a taunt, and not a grieving parent throwing a brick at him. As for the press, they need to grow some, stick to their jobs, and shut their yaps around citizens and their "rude" behavior.

"Did anyone else raise eyebrows at a couple of the more inclusive lines in Warren's invocation?"

Sure did. I'm cautiously coming to the conclusion that Obama knew what he was doing all along in choosing Warren, and Warren gave us an incredible opportunity to insist that he hold himself, his speech, and his followers to the meaning of his words, if he really believes what he said today in the name of God.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 09:46 AM

@ Pacifica

You are absolutely right, Warren was offensive to anyone who believes in the separation of church and state.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:00 AM

Almost feel sorry for him

but not quite. Go fuck yourself, Mr. Bush. Go fuck yourself, Mr. Cheney.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:03 AM

It came through loud...

and clear on MSNBC when Bush's helicopter took off, too.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:07 AM

Boorishness, hell! They should have thrown a million shoes at Bush.

And I'm sorry that someone didn't put Cheney down the stairs, "Kiss of Death" style.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:11 AM

it's a south side thing

They play that song at the White Sox games then the visitors strike out.

In the game of life, batting 370 just isn't good enough. And they told him.

classless

There is a difference, I think, between criticizing a man for his bad decisions and simply mocking him during what should be a solemn event. Why is it so hard to wait until #43 is no longer president to start jeering at him?

Honestly, I am much more concerned with how it makes the inaugural crowd look. The MSNBC coverage showed faces of some people singing the song, and they were black faces. I am concerned that our political enemies will simply use this as more evidence to argue that blacks are just rude, lewd, uncivilized people who cannot take solemn events seriously and shouldn't have been allowed near this august ceremony. Let's not add any more fuel to the bigoted fires that will lap stories like this up and put them on endless replay on Faux News. Showing a modicum of respect to Bush, even though he's done so little to earn it, might have gone a long way in promoting Obama's message of change and hope. Instead I'm afraid this needless taunting has just soured an otherwise sweet and sparkling moment in our nation's history.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:25 AM

Everyone looked beautiful today!

And Bush and Cheney can still go fuck themselves.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:25 AM

Bush is gone but not forgotten.

What the idiot talking heads are too gutless to say is that Bush is a criminal who has killed between 150,000 to 300,000 innocent people while simultaneously wrecking our economy.

It took superhuman restraint not to burn the outgoing jackass in effigy.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:26 AM

Call it what it is

Appropriate boorishness - democracy in action

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:28 AM

He's a uniter, all right.

United the country against him. They said Nixon couldn't get elected dogcatcher if he ran again. I'm not sure Bush could could get elected assistant dogcatcher.

How Quickly They Forget!!!

Let us please remember that on 09/12/2001. President George W. Bush pledged that we wound never fall victim to foreign attack on his watch. Seven years later, that promise still holds true, enabling us all to keep our right to opinions and free speech.

To that end, I believe we owe a debt of gratitude to President Bush for years of service given under a multitude of adversities. One need not like the person, but one MUST respect the office, as well as his tenacity in executing the duties necessary to keep this country safe and free!!!!

Mr. President, I say "God's Speed." to you and your family. Thank you for setting an example for future generations. You are truly a man of faith and conviction. I pray Historians

will judge your works kindly, and your sacrifices admirable. You have always been and will continue to be MY PRESIDENT.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:33 AM

Just...

another day with the "progressives". Coddle the terrorists and insult the President.

I'm sure MOTUS will change that.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:34 AM

Appropriate boorishness

Absolutely agreed! To The Press, Bush in his bubble (waiting for history to vindicate him), and all the Miss Manners bluenoses that think this was the wrong thing to do: THE PEOPLE have spoken. If ya didn't want to hear it, tune out Bush being sent packing because ya shoulda seen it coming!

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:37 AM

Maybe it was a tribute to him. Yeah, that's it.

If you can't have a little fun while standing among 2 million people in the bone-chilling cold, then what up?

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:38 AM

PS

If Fox Snooze wants to play an endless loop of Bush getting 'booed', I'll finally tune in. But somehow I don't think they want to show their man getting just what he deserved.

Re: Let him have it.

No. It doesn't do anyone any good to look for revenge, or to ridicule that ex-resident if 1600 Pensylvania Ave. It's's GONE now. Best to forget all about it and work on cleaning up the mess. As for me I will never utter it's name nor type it nor print it again. There WAS no 43rd President of the United States. For the last 8 years nobody was minding the store and a theif came to Washington to plunder the treasury and use our military to enrich it's friends and kill innocents. I will not give this theif a name because that would give it back some of it's power.

As of right now the only question anyone should be asking is how we can keep this last eight years from happening again and how can we help Barak Obama, the LEAGALLY ELECTED 44th President of the United States, clean up the mess.
