Palin now attacking her defenders

The Anchorage Daily News was working to debunk a nasty rumor about the governor's family -- so Sarah Palin is accusing the paper of bias against her.

The letters thread is now closed.

Paranoia will destroy ya

We've really entered the Sarah Palin cloud-cuckoo land here, haven't we.

She needs go underground, seriously, for a month or so to get a grip on reality.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 08:43 AM

I can't, I shouldn't, I mustn't, but oh God I can't help myself . . .

Sarah, why DO you get so defensive when anyone asks even the most benign question about those medical records?

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 08:49 AM

No, Sarah, we don't have to let anything go...

You have provided me with hours of free entertainment. Please keep it up and remind everyone on a daily basis just how insane the Republican Party has become.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 08:52 AM

Gee Sarah

You are so fucking arrogant. Your kind really make me puke.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 08:53 AM

Remember when an interviewer asked Sarah what she reads?

Now we know she does not even read her own local newspaper.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 08:55 AM

Keep it up Palinator!

She just doesn't get that she does not do herself any favors when she opens her mouth, does she? A good politician would shrug this stuff off, pick up and move on to the next game. Her Achilles is her complete inability to accept scrutiny with grace. Fortunately, that's a flaw that will destroy her on the national stage!

The gift that keeps on giving

I keep thinking that Sarah Palin can't top her previous antics, but she's proven me wrong again and again.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 08:58 AM

*smacks head*...*rolls eyes*

Where is Tina Fey when you need her? Geez Louise, talk about DEFENSIVE. What on earth does Sarah Palin need to be defensive about these days, anyhow? She's still governor of Alaska, she's still rich, she's now a Republican "great white hope" for 2012, and she's still a right-wing media darling.

Surely the fact that her daughter Bristol gave birth to a full term baby son just a couple weeks ago is all the proof she needs...isn't it? Or is there STILL MORE to this story?

Anyone whose conscience was clear, I believe, would simply laugh the rumors off at this point.

I have to say that I was (and still am, to some degree) in the camp of "something smells funny here". But I don't know what it is. Clearly there was something going on with a "no-show" pregnancy at 7 months, when most women (and Palin in her four other pregnancies) look like cows. And with flying nine hours, while in labor with a high risk pregnancy, to be delivered in a small town hospital by a non-obstetrician. I don't know if it is still true that Trig Van Palin has no birth certificate.

Interesting how conservative pundits scream for Barack Obama's birth certificate ("he's not a real American!") but have no interest in Trig's.

But seriously -- almost everyone has lost interest in this. I can't even entertain my friends with my paranoid delusions about it anymore! (Darn!) So why on earth is Sarah Palin all up in arms about it?

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 08:59 AM

Earth to Sarah:

Intelligent commentators have never disputed that on certain unusually clear days, one can indeed see an island belonging to Siberian Russia from an island belonging to Alaska. The critique was: just because the above is true, it doesn't give any particular, addle-brained Alaskan (such as yourself, for example) any foreign policy experience!

All I can say

Me thinks thou protests too much.

Na-Nixon of the North

Jeez, Governor, you're supposed to get all-powerful--like, um, on a national stage--before you start lashing out in all directions. Otherwise, you just look like Blagojevich with better hair and poorer taste in poetry.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 09:08 AM

*Sigh*

Palin is like a cut on the roof of your mouth that would go away if you'd stop poking it with your tongue. And by "poking it with your tongue" I mean "reporting on" and by "you" I mean "left leaning blogs.

Seriously guys, enough. The reason Ann Coulter's 15 minutes of fame was stretched out to 10+ years was because she would say something offensive and every blog would go "CAN YOU BELIEVE WHAT SHE JUST SAID????". Recently, blogs have started ignoring her and now the MSM is canceling her appearances on shows to make room for soon-to-be-forgottens like Perez Hilton. She got the spotlight taken away from her, and the same could happen to Palin too.

Palin was a dumbass who was totally unqualified and and said non-stop stupid things for two months. I remember, don't worry. No need to remind us every day. This kind of reporting is what's going to give her a springboard to 2012.

exactly

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 09:13 AM

@ something stinks

defensive much?

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 09:15 AM

Can you jump a shark in the Alaskan waters?

Cause if you can, I suspect that the Gov is about to do just that, and we can all exhale, leave her alone, and go on to This Year's Media Hound, whoever that may be.

Of course, there's still all those Alaska Statehood 50th Anniversary celebrations that she'll have to attend, with her family and fan club in tow.

Sarah Palin's maturity

I've been stunned by Sarah Palin's level of immaturity in the aftermath of the election. She is acting like a high school drama queen, trying to cover up her embarrassing mistakes by making them look like they were - obviously! - someone else's fault. It's like watching Ashlee Simpson hysterically blame her band for screwing up after she got caught lip-syncing on SNL.

A graceful individual in her place would accept and acknowledge the mistakes she made and work hard to ensure she did not repeat them in the future... not launch an entire media campaign to cast blame elsewhere. By attempting to loudly redirect attention, she is actually just making her flaws and gaffes that much more memorable in the public eye.

Go ahead, Palin. Run for president in 2012. If your current actions are any indicator, you will be trounced by a public sick of your self-flattering antics.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 09:23 AM

Uh huh

Quit supporting Palin, in fact why are you even talking about Palin? By doing that you keep her in the collective conscious of the USA and we DO NOT NEED that.

The woman is a piece of work and would be another, in a long line, of absurd and useless presidents (that group includes anyone with the last name Bush).

STOP TALKING ABOUT HER.

Let it fade away.

Beyond the Palin

A simple DNA test would demonstrate to the world whose baby belongs to whom.

Why would the Governor resist such a test? Why is she so immediately defensive about this matter? What is she hiding? When you smell smoke, isn't there a fire somewhere?

Why is the right-wing media not getting behind this story? Why are those who have been so insistent that there must be something to the BHO birth certificate story not posting daily about the Sarah Palin "whose child is this?" story?

A simple DNA test would clear this up. I say, we must demand such a test in these circumstances. The entire credibility of Ms. Palin is at stake. This woman has run for the second-highest office in the land, and is a distinctly possible candidate for the first-highest office. Don't the American people deserve to know the truth?

Something stinks indeed.
