Blago: impeachment because he "[fought] for families"

In one of the stranger press conferences in recent memory, the Illinois governor defends himself, attacks his enemies and quotes Tennyson.

FUNNY SIDE SHOW

-T. Elizabeth

That had me in stitches. Dear Rod thought he was something else. Rahm can throw words with the best of them. They talk about Rod's language. I'll bet they all talk like that. Thanks for the laughs.

what us wrong with you people?

Now let me get this straight: you're going to impeach the governor of Illinois for swearing on the phone and saying things that weren't quite nice a man who, when push comes to shove, hasn't broken any actual laws, but you're not going to impeach Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. Bush and the neo cons have kidnapped innocent people and sent them to be tortured in Egypt and Syria, they've imprisoned innocent people in Guantanamo Bay, started two wars by lying to and attacking the American people with planes and with anthrax. They tried to imprison one innocent man for their own anthrax attacks and when that didn't work they conspired with the FBI to drive another innocent man to suicide. They perverted the laws and the constitution of the United States in an attempt to legalize their crimes and at this very moment Dick Cheney has a shredder working so hard it has flames coming off it destroying documents he is obligated not to shred. I find this whole obsession with the governor of Illinois sickening. While this farce plays out the real criminals are smiling nicely and preparing for their getaway. Impeachment it seems is only for Democrats and they can be impeached for misdemeanours (and found not guilty after millions of dollars of taxpayer dollars have been wasted) but Republicans are sacred and can never be touched even when their crimes are war crimes on a par with anything the Nazis ever did. America has the worst political system in the world and it's this system that made it possible for the Israelis to go on their campaign of mass murder in Gaza. In normal countries Bush and Cheney would be long gone and under arrest and the Israelis would have to give a much better explanation for why they need to kill so many Palestinian children to Obama. The behaviour of the IDF in leaving those babies to starve amongst the bodies of their parents is a new low - even for the IDF and proves what I've long known: the Israeli army regards the Palestinians as sub-human, just the way the Nazis regarded Jews and Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the neo cons agree with them. That Condaleeza Rice, a black woman could make excuses for the killing in Gaza is incredible or would be if I didn't already know what a complete dickhead the woman is. A dickhead and a morals-free zone just like her boss and all his footsoldiers. They all make Blago look saintly by comparison.

The man tried to SELL Obama's senate seat. And yes, that is illegal. I don't know how much Blago is paying you to try and throw us off the scent but it won't work. He is on tape doing so. It's an open and shut case. He knows it. That's why he's trying to use children and the elderly as human shields.

If only someone would pay me! My point is that Bush and Cheney are guilty of murder and treason and corruption on such a mindboggling scale that it's almost impossible to comprehend and they're not going to be impeached? The scent I'm throwing you off is the scent of media manipulation and a false trail that leads you to spend your time attacking the governor of Illinois while the real criminals shred the evidence and pack up for a golden retirement. Why was the gov being wiretapped by the FBI in the first place? When they turned up at his house to arrest him he said 'You're joking'.I believe what the FBI was doing is what's known in the trade as a fishing expedition where you go looking for something, anything to use to destroy someone from the opposite party. When all the shouting's done they won't be able to make any of this stick legally, but so what? By then the damage will be done. Mud sticks, as the Republicans know only too well. There are still plenty of people in America who believe Bill Clinton was flying drugs around America when in fact, as many witnesses have testified, the CIA are the ones who fly drugs (and weapons) around in planes. Even though a Republican stooge went on TV and confessed that he was given the job of drip feeding lies and smears about Clinton to the media, including the one about the drug planes, and of course the media were like pigs at a trough - they couldn't get enough of it and it sold and sold and sold. The other point is that if you already know all the answers and it's an open and shut case why not just throw the governor in jail wihtout a trial? Even homicidal maniacs like Bush and Cheney should get a trial but of course Nixon's crimes also had no consequences for him and he was then pardoned by another Republican stooge just to make certain he could never be held accountable. You see the problem? You should remember the wise saying, 'Never assume, it makes an ass of you and me'. Blago's just a whipping boy and a distraction and a handy way of smearing Obama without appearing to do so.
