Of course he did. This is modern America - a public figure must immediately don the mantle of “victim” and attempt to justify his actions as simply striving for justice for the downtrodden – anyone who disagrees is a racist/sexist/bigot.
It’s like every one of them has become a Mrs Lovejoy: “Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the children?!”
It has literally become impossible to parody how far public figures have taken the victimhood mantra. It's not funny. It's sickening.
