It's hard to be Caroline Kennedy

The potential Senator faces additional scrutiny as a new poll shows New Yorkers aren't jumping for joy over the prospect she'll be appointed to represent them.

Senator Caroline

Surely

the great state of New York can come up with a better candidate than Caroline Kennedy.

I think Mr. Cuomo would be a better, more engaged senator.

We hate her.

Case closed. Appoint an insider with vast 'experience'.

Kennedy and Cuomo are "tied"

Based on the results you present here. She doesn't have a lead of Cuomo, they are tied statistically.

I love it....

...when the pollsters say their margin of error is 3.4 percent. After being so wrong about so many things, you'd think they'd either stop providing any "margin of error" numbers or admit that it's all guesswork because there's no way to know whether people are telling you what they really think or anything that is necessarily predictive of future behavior.

not that i don't like her, but...

the problem is, we don't know her. and she's not being very forthcoming in telling us who she is. "If" she gets the appointment, she'll do a full disclosure... of course, by then it's too late.

unlike those who seem blinded by the kennedy name, i really don't have an opinion on the woman. but i shrink from handing her an appt. that in all likelihood will wind up being a minimum eight year gig representing the people of new york.

her lack of any sort of discernible track record, combined with her seeming reluctance to be transparent about her financial dealings, her positions, and any sort of explanation whatsoever of why she's right for the job and what, specifically, she'd do if she got it, are worrisome.

combine THAT with what appears to be a concerted effort to strong-arm paterson into giving it to her -- and no, i don't think she should get it.

Spin baby spin

Gee whiz, what might be YOUR opinion on Caroline Kennedy? Voters not being enthusiastic, that might be she's 2nd or 3rd in the poll.

How would you 'objectively' evaluate the polls rating someone who hasn't run for political office before, running against someone else with a popular NY family name who has held office, and she still wins. Hmmmmmm. She wins = they don't like her. Oh, I get it. This is Salon.
