Hold government accountable?

Fox?

Am I in an alternative universe?

more important than ever

Kevin Magee, executive vice president of Fox News, said, "The Treasury has repeatedly ignored our requests for information on how the government is allocating money to these troubled institutions. In a critical time like this amidst mounting corruptions and an economic crisis -- and with the country about to inaugurate a Democratic President -- we as a news organization feel it’s more important than ever to hold the government accountable."

Fixed that for him.

To be fair

The FOX team was well aware that few of their kids would be risking their lives in an illegal, irresponsible war, but this is their MONEY. You don't play games with a Republican's money.

Not very patriotic of

them.

I hear the audit of the bailout won't be easy

I just spoke with someone this morning, to find out his company's in charge of auditing the bailout. Except, they do not have any financials, as not one of these companies who received billions in taxpayer money are willing to allow any outsiders to view what they did with these funds.

Why does FOX hate America?

It's obvious why we can't reveal how we're spending the bailout money. Al Qaeda is still out there. Revealing how we're spending this $700 bil would give valuable operational information to the enemy.

So, why does FOX want to reveal this sensitive information which can only give aid and comfort to the enemy?

Why do they hate freedom?

shaking off the rust

Clearly, this is the beginning of a pivot from mouthpiece to critic. And since they haven't criticized the executive branch in 8 years or so, they thought they'd take a few practice swings before the real at bats start on Jan. 20.

More important than ever

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! infinity. Go get 'em, Fox, O mighty watchdogs; O fiercely independent protectors of journalistic freedoms; thou vanguards, thou sentries; thou intrepid warriors of the 4th estate!

Monday, December 22, 2008 01:01 PM

Whoa, Nellie!

...we as a news organization feel it’s more important than ever to hold the government accountable.

AHAHAHAHAHAAAA!! Stop, please, you're killing me!

My sides hurt, and I can't stop the tears of laughter.

Bearpaw nailed it

Go ahead and close the comments thread, there is nothing more that needs to be said about this.

Nobody Loves You when you're down & out

Poor Georgie. Seduced and abandoned. But Lon Cheney still loves him, more or less.

wonderful news! great to hear

that even the ' FOX ' is no longer stupid enough to be 'outfoxed' by the higher then all-mighty george wubbya bush! now if they would only wake up and realize that sarah moosecake lacks the yeast to rise up and become even a half-assed president. then we'll be able to say that , finally, 'the FOX' has wised up and decided not to cross that busy road!

Know Nothings!

In fact the treasury has honored the request by not honoring it - they sent nothing because they know nothing.

Increrdible!

This is as if PRAVDA told old Joe Stalin to stuff it.

What goes around comes around.

Fox is saving themselves for Rambo Barbie.

@ flipside -- "Why Does Fox Hate America?"

Because our best-liked girls think Fox is just a den of nasty old farts who smell bad?

An Awful lot of Whining Going on Here...

Fox makes a good move... So what's the problem? It not as if the New York Times or Washington Post have been hot on the story.......

Spring training?

Matttroke has it right. This is batting practice for Fox. And the Cactus/Citrus season won't last much beyond Obama's vacation in Hawaii.

Hope he and Gibbs are prepared for the "long knives" of the right, to change the metaphor.

This recession is going to be very messy for lots of people, and we're going to need lots of

bandages to stanch the bleeding. But the Shrub won't lose much of it, nor Deadeye Cheney.

@Dmagnificent

The majority of americans serving in the military and risking thier lives voted and are Republican and are not rich.Show me one time when NBC,MSNBC,CBS or ABC didn't play softball with the Democrats from Lewinsky,to Gore and his enviormentally unfreindly energy suckin house and private jet runs all over the globe,Barney Frank,Chris Dodd and their connections to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae,William Jefferson, Harry Reid, Princess Pelosi or democrat congress not putting oversight in this bailout bill to be able to track where the money goes.all of the coverage from the election including the refusal to acknowlege the John Edwards affair until it would have been an embarassment not to, the pro Obama election headquarters they set up and the tingles up thier collective legs from the every utterance of the Illinois Senator.Take a step back ,take a good look at the entire picture and think about the words of Governor Ed Rendell, Democrat,Clinton state chairperson, when he spoke of Fox news having the best, fairest, most knowlegable and investigative coverage of the election and you start to see a trend.Fox has at least tried to be fair and balanced and it's only the collective incredibly blatant liberal bias from the other media outlets that give the illusion this is not so.From your assumptions I can determine that you have never sacrificed or put yourself on the line for your country or you would have understood and taken the high road before bringing up whose chidren serve or whose are served.
