Hmm

In the absence of evidence, let me say--again-hmm.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 04:41 PM

I'm shocked, shocked to learn that anyone named "Jesse Jackson" might wish to extract some private promises involving the trade of politcal favors for cash.

Like father, like son.

"Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful investigation."

Elephantman

Like father, like son.

Don't forget the Georges. The second is less competent than the first (which ain't saying much, but there you are).

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 05:15 PM

Too bad

I hope Jackson doesn't have anything to do with it - he seems to have real promise- but either way his rep is tarnished by being named at all which sucks if he didn't do anything wrong. (I'm not assuming either way- hoping but not assuming...)

In any event it seems like that special election is a really good idea- no other way to get the stink off the affair and make the an appointment look good.

What a broken record...

"I did not have sex with that woman, Monic....I mean I did not have contact with that governor..." Is it me or do all those Dems sound alike?

Also folks, this all has just begun and it won't go away anytime soon. The people of Illinois can't afford nor will they pay for a special election. The state is in dire financial straights and a special election will cost many millions. Perhaps Oblahblah will pay for it from his campaign reserves. Either way they're all shaking in their boots--Emanuel, Obama, Daley. Between Rezko and now Blago they are so F*** vulnerable. The Feds will be squeezing hard. Santa has come early...

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 06:10 PM

This will go away soon

Blago will be gone, and Pat Quinn will appoint a Senator. Any ongoing trial will be local news. Ya'll have bigger fish to fry and frankly so do we.

Cry me a bleepin' river!

No crocodile tears for Jesse Jr. I remember what a slimeball he was during the primaries, playing the race card against Hillary and throwing his own father under the speeding bus. Y'all know what goes around comes around and God don't like ugly. The chances of him ever becoming a US senator is now between zero and none! And that's a good thing.

Hey Elephantboy,

The only investigations of note will be the ones that land Cheney and Bush in jail.

.... and for God's sake, stop touching yourself.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 06:23 PM

Bush supporters can't complain

Well, they can, but they look even more foolish than usual. Anybody that's part of the 25% that has remained loyal to Bush, and even had the nerve to try and defend him, can't get upset by something like this and be expected to be taken seriously.

Even if it did turn out that Obama wrote a check out to Blagojevich, and it's all caught on video, this is nothing compared to the ineptitude and outright villainy that these people have not only tolerated, but applauded. Christmas did come early this year, it came on November 4th.

You know What's Coming: a Tsunami of Verbal Excrement from the Media and TV Talking Heads

Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. has made it clear and emphatic that he is not "a target" - - after he called Fitzgerald's office.

But, of course, that doesn't hinder the bloviators in print and on TV from uttering terribly "serious-minded" suspicions that Jackson is not in the clear, not even a slither.

Despite the fact that Fitzgerald has all the telephone transcripts going back for months and has all the information on all the players in this blatant scandal, and very little is now left to question because of the arrogant, loudmouthed stupidity of the Governor of Illinois - - you must keep in mind that the prosecutor is NOT the guy who decides who is guilty or under suspicion. It is WE THE COMMENTARIAT who decide who is/are the culprits.

Why, just today on CNN a Republican Party operatchicheechiheeboom made it definitely clear that Fitzgerald's evidence is somewhat beside the point, at least for now. The real problem is that Jackson is much too definite and he "protests too much". It smacks of evasion and a tendency to obscure the truth.

God help us. What would we do without TV talking heads to distract us from watching the 25th rerun of "The Godfather", Parts 1,2, and 3 ? Maybe we would go to bad earlier or just

shut off the freaking TV set !

Denialville has bipartisan representatives

Senator Ted Stevens, whose indictment followed the Alaska FBI searches by 23 months, maintained that they weren't interested in him for all that time, then that he was innocent after he was finally indicted late last July. He rushed his trial because he claimed he would be exonerated.

Alaska's Congressman Don Young has made similar protestations of innocence, but has already spent $1.1 million or more in campaign funds on attorneys. It helped all those Wasilla fundamentalists vote for him in clear conscience to secure his 50% victory in his 19th reelection. It helped that his opponent is Jewish, those "Christ killers."

William Jefferson denied he'd done anything wrong even after the discovery of $90,000 in marked money in his freezer. Constituents looked the other way and voted for him two years ago and in this year's primary. Finally Democrats split their ticket to help minority Republicans get rid of him.

Larry Craig has denied claims for years that he chronically sought sex in public toilets.

John Edwards denied an affair, then denied paternity.

Sarah Palin claimed she hadn't done anything wrong in Troopergate, she and her team refused to interview with the legislative investigator, then claimed that a damning report "exonerated" her.

They're all reading from the same book.
