Alex,
The law states that she can not directly raise funds to retire the debt. Could Bill provide the Marque name?
I'll see what strings I can pull..
"(Jerry Lewis, apparently, was unavailable.)" really necessary?
What an ass.
Maybe instead of making the 75 appearances for Obama and raising 8 million bucks for him she should have just taken care of her own fundraising.
What is the matter with you people- The Clinton Derangement Syndrome is still going strong- Why not start a support group so you can maybe get over it and move the ef on.
What about "change" don't you understand?
The pissing and moaning from you Clinton Hating Crazies about HRC coupled with the whining about Obama's picks shows a shallow understanding of "change" at best.
Its an inside job- it starts with you, doing work on yourself not pointing fingers at everybody else with such smug assessment about people you know nothing about- anyone who has done any real research on HRC finds a very different person than the fricking cartoon demon you lunatics make her out to be with your obsessive yammering.
Barack hasn't even taken office yet and the typical Democrat who calls himor herself a progressive starts chipping away to undermine and create division and doubt. Sorry, that just isn't progressive- same old-same old, politics as usual.
You all taklk a good game- well, I mean repeat platitudes well but when it comes to actually being a change agent all I hear is crybabies and professional haters who just cannot let go because the payoff, the surge of whatever juice you get from it is too lucious to let go of- just like any other addicts obsession
Why?
Because doing the real work of participation in the process is too hard- its so much easier to sit back and criticize than go to work being the progressive change you've been waiting for.
Change isn't about Obama changing the faces and bodies or moving the personalities around. Please- get real- change is about seeing things fresh, brainstorming, arguing, looking with new eyes, being OPEN to new information- which means doing the research to actually acquire that information instead of parroting over and over the current meme or frozen past understanding- change is about taking new conditions and doing things differently than they were done in the past and anyone cand do that- even you people- though thats unlikely- this compulsive Hate Hillary schtick you have going on is just too comfortable.
Can you tell I'm sick to death with this crap?
I might have a ball of lint in my pocket.
Your continual hatchet job on Hillary is so last year. When she is SofS, you can join Billo and predict the end of the world, thanks to her.
Until then, grow up.
If you don't want to give her any money, then don't
I have no animosity towards Hillary Clinton. Despite tapping my wallet plenty for the last campaign, I might dig down deeper to pay off her office rent, printing company bills, etc., but I understand that the loathsome Mark Penn is owed about seven million. Seems he could wipe out her debt quickly by forgiving his portion. Considering how much damage he did, might only be fair.
I mean, they seem to be doling out trillions of dollars to nearly all comers who have some messy debts, no questions asked, so I wouldn't think that an extra $7.5 million would make a lick of a difference. Or would she need to incorporate her campaign as a bank first?
Which celebrity has raised probably more money than any other?
Jerry Lewis.
Clinton is having a "bail me out of the mistakes I made" telethon. Who better to emcee than Jerry Lewis?
I laughed, anyway.
She's pretty awesome, a good actress, a visible Democrat, and a Latina to boot. Don't be a jerk, Alex.
You good old gas passer
If a goose can lay a golden egg
Then surely you
Can effortlessly
Surpass her...
Clinton stages fundraiser to pay off campaign debts!
Alex Koppelman is shocked - shocked! Apparently enough to post a SECOND news story about it in as many days!
Yawn. We know you hate her. That's ok, we hate you.
You all need to chill.
She spent plenty of her own money on the campaign. There's nothing wrong with trying to raise more money to pay the last debts. And you may not care to hear her speak, but plenty of people will.
What's far more annoying is that, having been generous with my contributions to first Hillary and then Obama (you know -- Mr. I-raised-$650-Million-in-my-Campaign-for-Change), I'm now STILL receiving email solicitations from Obama asking me to contribute more.
I mean, WTF is up with that? Let's see what you accomplish before I start bankrolling the reelection campaign/
I don't get the Jerry Lewis reference. Is the point that America Ferrera is somehow a step down in terms of celebrity from Jerry?
I assume that this is meant to make fun of Ferrera and I am puzzled by this. It's not as if Obama (the guy I supported) was exactly devoid of celebrity support (both lame and not-so-lame) and it's not as if it's a bad thing for Hillary to try and use a youthful star, albeit one who may not exactly be a household name at this time, to try and get some support.
I just don't understand what Amerca Ferrera did to deserve any ridicule. If there is some tie-in between Jerry Lewis and the Clinton campaign, I am unaware of it, so I apologize in advance if that is the case. But unless there is an actual reason to make the comparison, I can't understand why you'd make fun of her for trying to help her favored candidate.
And in addition to being an Obama supporter, I have never watched a single minute of "Ugly Betty" so it's not as if I am rushing to the defense of my favorite telenovela star. I'd just like to save the snark for those who deserve it.
