Very good & very frustrating

The video is top notch. What's frustrating is that it did not come out SIX MONTHS AGO. It should have been, or parts of it should have been, on TV morning, noon, and night during the campaign. The erstwhile leaders of the anti-Prop 8 campaign need to step aside and let jointheimpact.com take over the fight.

And accurate too!

Since all opponents of gay marriage do indeed hate gays. All those who say they don't are lying.

Brilliant. That pretty much says it all.

Prop 8: The Musical

I just played the clip 10 times back to back and can't stop laughing! Brilliant! Hysterical! Send it to your favorite hypocrite today!

Is there more?

Hey Asshole Celebs!

Was this video uploaded two months late?

What the fuck is the point NOW? Seriously, its straight-up ego-stroking to make fun of the zealots. "Oh, yeah, man.. we'll sure gonna let those ignorant bible-thumpers know how we feel now" ---- Got news, dipshits: They know how you feel and they don't give a fuck.

All they are doing is preaching to choir and making themselves feel better for a lack of action BEFORE the election.

and Alex, really? Do you honestly feel like you are actually earning whatever they pay you by putting up a post like this? I know a boatload of recently laid-off journalists who are chomping at the bit, pal.

Why now? because it's not newsworthy until you're already on the wrong side of history. Now you get to play victim instead of loser.

Wrong side of history

To the person whose online identity is a plea for attention by someone who is extremely frustrated not being able to refute Glenn Greenwald's arguments:

I hear where you're coming from about the wrong side of history. Standing with your finger in the dyke of gay marriage (pun intended), you must feel pretty hopeless these days knowing that this, like so many of your other cherished positions, will be lost in the near future.

Seriously, I do kinda feel for you. You and so many other troglodytes (look it up) are obviously distressed and dismayed to see the world changing in a direction you're unable to comprehend. From what I understand, your brain may not be equipped for the 21st century. That's gotta suck.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 01:22 PM

"Glenn Greenwald is a coward" is the real coward!

For sticking your noses into other people's realtionships in the first place.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 01:37 PM

by no means...

...is my anger at that ill-timed musical number directed towards the pro-gay marriage crowd. The "wrong side of history" is people who oppose gay marriage.

And for the record: Glenn Greenwald is more of a badass than any silly commenter. (myself included)

@obama's law blog

I agree with you, I find it frustrating that all this anti-prop 8 stuff is coming out NOW, after the friggin' election. Before the election, it was really clear that the pro-8 people were much better organized than the anti-8 people. I can't tell you how many pro-8 sites I passed on the road where a good dozen people were championing hate based on their own silly fears. Meanwhile, trying to get your hands on, say, a lawn sign that said "No On 8" was not easy.

My dad voted for Prop 8, and I asked him about this during Thanksgiving. I said "Why are you so afraid of gay people that you had to vote to take their rights away? What is it that scares you so?" He said that gay people didn't scare him, but that "if you let gay people marry, that messes things up for the rest of us." OK, I said. How? does it mess things up? He said that since gay marriage was made legal, the amount of gay divorces had dwarfed the number of hetro divorces, showing that gay marriage wasn't built to last. I pointed out that this claim was just plain false, and he conceded. He said he did know of one lesbian couple who got married then divorced. I asked him if marriages ending in divorce meant that marriage was flawed, and asked how this relates to the 50% divorce rate for heteros. At that point, he stopped talking about divorce altogether. Then I asked him again, what was so scary about gay people. He said, again, nothing is scary. In fact, he likes gay people because it means there are more women available for heterosexual men. I said, okay, then what made you so scared of gay people that you had to vote to take their rights away. He didn't want to talk about it anymore.

Long story short, I believe most votes for Prop 8 were cast out of unexamined prejudices which, held up to the light of day, make no sense. If there had been any sort of viable anti-8 campaign, we would not be crying about this hateful law having passed.

reverse discrimination LOL

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – Gay rights groups and newspaper editorials on Tuesday condemned the Vatican for its decision to oppose a proposed U.N. resolution calling on governments worldwide to de-criminalize homosexuality.

The row erupted after the Vatican's permanent observer to the United Nations told a French Catholic news agency the Holy See would oppose the resolution, which France is due to propose later this month on behalf of the 27-member European Union.

Archbishop Celestino Migliore said the Vatican opposed the resolution because it would "add new categories of those protected from discrimination" and could lead to reverse discrimination against traditional heterosexual marriage.
