Palin still eyeing Senate?

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski is warning Sarah Palin that she'll face a tough battle if she goes after Murkowski's seat in 2010.

The letters thread is now closed.

Quick question...

"I don’t think the way to the presidency is a short stop in the United States Senate."

Does Murkowski know who the President-Elect is?

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 07:23 AM

Run, Sarah, run.

I'm bitterly disappointed that Begich won. I thought he'd lose, and that Palin would get to run for the Ted Stevens seat.

Anyway, I hope Palin runs for Murkowski's seat in 2010; Lisa Murkowski must be pretty damned scared if she's trashtalking Palin this early. And it has absolutely nothing to do with a 2012 Presidential race. It has everything to do with just winning another Senate seat back for the Republicans.

predictions

From the guy who predicted Sarah Palin would make a good VP candidate, another prediction: Lisa Murkowski will apparently switch to a Democrat sometime between now 2010, thus allowing Palin to win a seat "back" for the Republicans.

Either that or the guy who thought Sarah Palin would make a good VP candidate is an idiot.

Which seems more plausible?

You betcha!

Palin's in a jam because she's busy trying to cash in on her waning 15 minutes any way she can, banking on celebrity versus, say, legislative and political accomplishments. The boring stuff of governing, basically, versus the sexy stuff. A few more drab years screwing Alaska over won't do her any favors.

Maybe she can push to become President of Alaska in a secessionist movement or something, but I think her star's going to sink below the horizon sooner than later.

@ The Brad

Yeah, that was pretty funny.

Of course, Palin doesn't have the advantages of Obama's other background. I mean, she was never a community organizer ... which I understand is something like a being small-town mayor, except that community organizers actually help improve people's lives.

E-Man

It's a non stop joke a minute from the E-man. He's the Alan Colmes of Salon. If I didn't know he was a real person, I'd think he was a plant from the DNC.

Another Senate seat back for the Republicans?

LAWL Elephantman

Sen. Lisa Murkowski is a Republican. Republican eat thier own.

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 07:54 AM

Oops. My bad. Not a good day.

I think I'll stay out of Alaskan politics for the foreseeable future. Let the pile-on begin.

Zero sum game in terms of party senate seats

Should be entertaining to watch, though.

That depends on whether her $7 million dollar book deal works out

If it does then she'll be the darling of the retarded rubber chicken speaking circuit. She'll have Bishop Voodoo on one hand and a gaggle of pregnant teens praising Jayzus on the other.

It will be classic Robert Altman.

I was surprised to hear Sarah Palin is working on a book

At first I thought she said she was going to

read a book!

Can we assume that this means...

you don't have to answer any direct questions to become the senator from Alaska? If her VP run was any indicater, she'd better hope so! Maybe instead of the GOP paying for her wardrobe it'll be the oil companies!

How about that?

Perhaps Ms Palin could pose for Playboy...

Let's not miss the point here

Yes, we already know that Elephantboy is not so good with the facts.

Yes, he cluelessly stated that Murkowski is a Democrat. Really, this kind of thing is to be expected from him. But focusing on that rather typical error draws attention away from what really merits examination.

He says he is "bitterly disappointed" that Stevens was defeated. He is bitterly disappointed that a senator who has been convicted of corruption was defeated.

This is the Republicans in a nutshell. Disappointed that a corrupt senator was defeated. The Greedy Outrageous Party proudly shows its true colors.
