& not the goddamn Vice President.
Everything that is wrong about factory farming is on display here. What is embarassing and obscene is not the way that these birds died, graphically, on TV. It's the way that they lived.
She really is the Paris Hilton of politics, isn't she? (except that Paris Hilton had a better energy plan)
Ohmygod!!!!!!!!!!!
That just needed to be said.
in the life of The Screechwoman, Alaska GOP Guv Alex Forrest.
I was mesmerized by her talking points.
That is all.
there is something beautifully ironic about the whole thing. I eat meat, and while I try to avoid animals that haven't been raised well, slaughter is never pretty. If you can't deal with the fact that turkeys aren't born headless, featherless and ready-for-roasting, you might want to reconsider what you eat.
On the other hand, what is with politicians and the whole "word of the day" thing. Palin's word of the day was "great". It is a great country, the experience was great, people made great sacrifices...
Great! Great great great great!
She knows how to keep talkin' and talkin' and stringin' the words right along, there, and, oh gosh, fillin' the space between words with more talkin' almost like she's sayin' somethin' that means something, and talking.
That, and this shot is no accident. It's too perfectly composed. The camera operator knew exactly what they were doing.
I'm sure she'll miss it when the RNC-funded clothes are returned to be auctioned off for charity.
The biggest turkeys come without feathers.
They had to spare that turkey. He had the most foreign policy experience.
that's all
When is Salon and the MSM going to stop bashing Palin? The election is over, you've had your fun -- it's just not sporting, much less fair, any more. Why post something just because it makes her look bad?
I'm just glad she is talking turkey pardons instead of helping with the McCain transition team.
We really dodged a bullet this election!
She is absolutely unaware of what is going on around her and enchanted with herself. She was too busy looking in the camera/mirror. She might have had the capabilities to learn things like, foreign policy, but she will always be a self-centered walking mouth.
We shouldn't post things that make Palin look bad.
Which means we should never talk about her again.
Pretty please?
That was really funny. That was better than Betty White's role in Lake Placid leading the cows to the water.
I loved it. Especially the guy staring into the camera while slaughtering the birds. I'd like to see the video untouched though. Can't remember the last gruesome dark comedy I've seen...
Most gruesome press announcement ever. Still, I have to give her credit. She consistently reminds me that I made an excellent choice in voting for Obama earlier this month. Now let us pray for those poor turkeys. Amen.
I think you should call your kids into the room and let them see how you get meat on the table. A hundred years ago it would have been them putting the turkey into the killing cone, but now it's not okay for ickle Billy and Dakota to know how it's done?
While we're on the topic of cluelessness, those turkeys may have looked a little rough, but that farm certainly looked like exactly the kind of small farm any meat eating Snow Belt Liberal should buy from. The turkeys were running around, acting like turkeys. No, they didn't have a couch or a TV, but turkeys don't need the stuff we do to be happy. They were also slaughtering on site, which means no stress-inducing ride to the slaughterhouse. If you want to run around yelping your condemnations to the wind, you really ought to know what you're condemning first.
... the executioner's chuckle as she said "get out and promote a local business"...
I also liked the stirring straw in the coffee cup. Don't mess up that lipstick! You might be asked to geek one of those turkeys yourself.
I also noticed the Breaking News in frame one:
"Pardoned poultry too polluted for Princess Palin to procure"
She has a great appreciation for repeatin' talkin' points.
She has a great appreciation for sayin' talkin' points over and over.
She has a great appreciation for those talkin' points.
She has no appreciation whatsoever for the way that things she does are perceived by people who actually think.
The condemnation was against Sarah Palin and not the farm.
She probably dragged the camera crew over there. I would probably do the same thing -you people are soft. Anyways, it keeps her in the news, which is always good PR. Your negative reactions to a completely normal activity also shows how far removed from the land you are...pathetic.
Why post something just because it makes her look bad?
Ummm........... because it is hilarious, that's why!
Thanks for the link to the video. God does not like this woman.
"shows how far removed from the land you are"
That's rich.
Why does this woman hate English so much? For the love of God, woman, can't you stop with the endless run on sentences, switching voices. Christ on a friggin' Crutch...
If anyone can seperate it from the turkey gobbles.
The sadistic beauty queen smile, the inane diversionary chattering, the casual murder, the pouring blood, the goofy curious executioner.
Somewhere, somebody has written and warned about this. Kafka, maybe?
I have it on good information that those turkeys were al Qaeda. Palin was just polishing her foreign policy cred.
Let's see...Obama won the election so he's in the White House and he's getting his cabinet ready to try to dig us out of this economic hellhole. While Palin is talking useless rhetoric and contradicting herself while animals get killed behind her. Perhaps a lot of people are disconnected to the land (hey I live in NYC, I'm far from land in "real" America as Palin says)but you're still going to have to live under Obama's presidency and administration. Jokes on you, darling.
