She won her race. And I doubt anyone is going to remember what she said on Hardball 2 years from now.
Bill "Wrong About Everything" Kristol, pundon't extraordinaire.
Why is Karl Rove not on the losers list?
WINNERS: JON STEWART?!?! Remember him? And you leave him off after his moving retirement of his Bush impression last night?
Bill Kristol--in the loser category (is that just so obvious that it doesn't need to be said?).
Serious, irony-free question.
(Between penultimate semester at law school, the campaign, and roofers starting work early and loudly this week I'm a little bit sleep deprived.)
Because he was a losing primary candidate?
Because of his late decision between Clinton and Obama?
No dog in this hunt, but my impression of Richardson remains quite positive.
LeBron James. Kurt Schilling
I don't think I saw Jon Stewart in the "Winners" list.
why is mitt romney in the winners & jesse jackson in the losers? should be the other way around, i think
is always a winner in my book.
They guy who was sneered at by the Inside-the-Beltway types because he believed the Democratic party should get out there and actually fight for some things they believe in, and actually support the people who do so.
He was right about everything. The 50 State strategy, supporting liberals in conservative conclaves, being a national party. He may be the biggest winner outside of Obama himself. Howard Dean is the man of the hour.
Ok, sure, he was willing to call out McCain for putting Palin on the ticket. But he still acted like an ass all year long, culminating in his bizarre behavior on Rachel Maddow's show.
For principled conservative horrified by the hijacking of his party, I nominate Christopher Buckley, And Andrew Sullivan.
I think Richardson's on the Loser list because, while he endorsed Obama, he didn't exactly go for broke in pushing to get Obama into office (kind of like Hillary). This might cost him a prime spot with the Chicago Mafia when they take over next year.
Remind me what Claire McCaskill did that makes her a winner, Joan.
Sorry, Alex.
I really know that you aren't Joan -- and don't look a bit like her!
She was out early for Obama is spite of pressure on women Dems. to be for Hillary. She was a visable surogate througout the campaign and a real Obama cheerleader. Her position in the Senate and as a leader in the emerging Obama-led Democrat party is on the rise...
Come on, Bill Kristol NEEDS to be on this list. Some inside sources are now saying that it was Kristol's letter to McCain pushing Palin was a decisive factor in the pick, and that Kristol was perhaps her biggest cheerleader behind the scenes. He certainly sang her praises all the way through the campaign from his cozy post at the NYTimes. Kristol drank as much of the Kool-Aid as anyone; the guy really should be laughed out of the punditocracy. I wonder if Palin can see the country of Africa [sic] from where she lives. And I wonder if Kristol can see his reputation receding into the distance.
Mike
Right now there is some shelter mutt in a cage, with pleading eyes and a tail ready to wag. It has no idea that it is soon to be adopted by an awesome family, with two sweet little girls, and will live in a very, very famous house.
Nicole Wallace is a winner for knowing all these horrible truths about the McCain campaign and lying about them day after day, but is redeemed for revealing those secrets when she is scapegoated?
Adding to the list of Losers, all those celebrity JERKS who placed "robocalls" to me during the campaign. I dont believe I got ONE robocall for anyone except Republican candidates. So. Michael Waltrip, Richard Petty, Hank Williams Jr and Sarah Palin, "HAPPY OBAMA NEXT FOUR YEARS - I did not listen to your lies and misinformation - your call did NOT change my vote!". Those are just the 4 I can remember from the day of and the day before the election.
And to a winner, Obama - lets see what we can do get "robocalls" ELIMINATED, once and for ALL!
Lady VonRibbentrop or whoever it was that screeched about being for McCain because the Obama supporters were so mean to Hillary & then said 'Pres-Elect' (God, it feels sooo good to type that) was 'elitist' (which we all had a hell of a laugh about since she was a contessa or something).
You know, that one.
Just as much of a loser even when he didn't affect the outcome of the election.
Bill Richardson did not do anything to deserve being on the losers list. That is really unfair.
He ran, bowed out when he had to, endorsed Obama within a very reasonable amount of time, campaigned all over for him, and helped deliver a really good-sized win in New Mexico.
And I might mention that, having been a Richardson volunteer, I thought his campaign website was better than Obama's and at least in NJ the local campaigns had much better communication via the website.
P.S. I fully supported Obama after BR dropped out, and was one of many, many Richardson volunteers who contacted him about backing Obama. If you are calling him a loser because he did not endorse Clinton, well, maybe he was listening to his supporters.
Making a list like that is a little nasty anyway. Find something else to post about.
Winners: Al Gore, the City of Chicago, Richard Daley (mayor of Chi-Town), John Stewart and Stephen Colbert, CNN, MSNBC, the "Blue State/Red State" Theory, The US military.
Losers: The Republican Party (now a regional collecton of Dixieland True Believers and mountain state loners), Fox News, Ronald Reagan, Solidad O'Brien (she's kind of a twit), Joe Scarborough (he's DEFINITELY a twit).
I would move Nicolle Wallace and Steve Schmidt to the "Losers" list ... I reached a point where I couldn't bear to watch Wallace tell her lies in television interviews, and just the sight of her made me change the channel. And I don't know that Schmidt did McCain any favors ... However, I would move Bill Richardson to the "Winners" list -- he's made a national name for himself this year as a leader of a growing demographic group and whose endorsement was very important in the primary season, and we could well see him appointed Secretary of State ... I think that'd be grounds to call him a winner!
