Is not the Muslim population comparable to the Jewish population at this point in the US? And yet, the political elite all fall to their knees to speak of the wonders of Israel, while using the idea of being a Muslim to discredit a presidential candidate.
Don't get me wrong - if Clinton's arguments get Obama the White House, then it must be done, but I have to wonder if there will be a day, and one soon, where maligning the Muslim voters in this country will be a mistake. Where I live in Maine, I can all but guarantee there will be more Muslims casting ballots than Jews. An engaged Muslim population is our best bulwark against terrorist insurgencies, but we sure as hell aren't doing a good job of it.
(As an aside, I hope this comment doesn't get me barred from the annual Hanukkah party on my street!)
Interesting that this lip-service to AIPAC is coming from Clinton, not Obama. Granted, he did fawn over them at their conference over the summer. But the fact that this has been underplayed by this campaign reflects the reality that most American Jews, as well as most Israeli Jews, favor a more balanced approach to the Palestinian/Isreali issue.
Is she really talking about Iran?
Because in defeating terror, Israel's cause is our cause. And because Israel's struggle is a struggle not just for the Jewish people, but for all people who want to live in peace and security.
One of these things, is not like the other.
Hillary has gone farther & done more than anyone else in her position ever has. It's a shame the Democratic party is so full of backstabbing hypocrites. She was cheated out of the nomination the same way Al Gore was cheated of the presidency. And yet, if obama loses they will blame her, not him, but her. She is so much better than he is. Do you really believe, with his previous behavior, he would ever do for her what she's done for him? Not a chance. The obamas have both proven themselves petulant, self aggrandizing, whiny little people. He's backtracked on nearly everything already. How are people going to react when they see what they have wrought once again? We should have learned our lesson with W, but here we are doing it again.
Speaking of whining.... just go ahead and put your phony Democrat x by McCain's name like you were always going to. Then either put your shoulder to wheel and help, or get the hell out of the way. Equating Obama to Bush reveals you to be either a moron or dishonest, and probably both. Hillary voter? My Ass! is about all I have to say to you myopic frauds at this point of the game.
Hillary was not "robbed" of the nomination, she LOST it fair and square by running a disorganized, negative, and fear-mongering campaign that didn't suit the direction people wanted to take. She lost for the identical reason that McCain is losing.
I also believe that if Hillary had one, that Barack Obama would be everything gracious--he would do stump speeches for her, he would campaign vigorously, and he would write editorials. They are FRIENDS, if nothing else, and this race has strained that friendship, but it is still there.
Please don't cast Obama as the Devil because your preferred candidate didn't win the nomination. Mine didn't either. I was a huge Edwards supporter. But that ship has sailed, and I've been volunteering for Obama. WE NEED A DEM THIS TIME. Any Dem. Obama's the one we'll get, and he's done a phenomenal job of bringing people together, which is what we need now to move forward.
VOTE, folks! Vote today if you can--who knows what will come up tomorrow.

At this point, I'm suspicious that posts like yours are from Republicans pretending to be PUMAs (and probably getting paid a pittance for it).

Why don't you spare us the PUMA apocolyptic bullshit, m'kay? She wasn't robbed, she is over it or at least is pragmatic about her loss, and you are bitter dead horse beater who just needs either to go vote for McCain already and shtfup about the primary. I think as a country, we will be just fine about our choice, so save your hand-wringing...
I was hardcore for her until Obama won the primaries. He simply outdid her in every way. If you are truly a democrat, you will vote for Obama tomorrow. It may have made sense to hold out for awhile and try to influence the platform, but after the convention, if you are a democrat, you ARE voting for Obama. If you don't, then you are no longer a democrat and need to face facts about what type of a person you are. Be honest with yourself. Every healthy adult needs self examination.
