Obama racks up first win of election day

Barack Obama beats John McCain in tiny Dixville Notch, N.H., the first time a Democrat has won the hamlet since 1968.

Hank 3

Link is broken.

Hank III is, well, he's not my personal hero, but he's sure one of them.

Drive-by Trucker's Patterson Hood unofficially endorsed Barack Obama yesterday:

Thanks for pointing out the problem.

Woo Hoo!

Onward and upwards fellow voters for change. For those looking for additional Obama memorabilia, check out KeepMyVote.com. The site has ballots and certificates celebrating Barack Obama's historic candidacy as well as the defeat of California's Proposition 8.

I remember it like it was yesterday

1968, Dixville Notch, the last time they voted Democrat in the presidential elections:

Hubert Humphrey eight, Nixon four

Ron Paul got 2 votes in Hart's Location (NH)

Obama also did well in Hart's Location (another small NH town that did voting after midnight).

I think it's worth mentioning that Ron Paul got 2 votes (out of the 29 cast) there, even though he's not on the ballot. Two out of twenty-nine votes may not be much, but it's good to see people voting their conscience.

Dixville Notch

It's a great sign, at least for New Hampshire, if not for the nation. I'm voting in Nashua today and expecting to see some liveliness at my polling station. People in New Hampshire are absolutely pumped--better yet, many are very angry at McCain for abandoning the principles he ran on in 2000.

We should cut Hank Jr. a little slack.

In 1975 he fell 500 feet and landed on his head tearing his face almost completely off and exposing his brain to the open air. Draw your own conclusions.

also, the Steelers won

which, according to my dad, happens in advance of a Democratic victory. (Redskin wins coincide with Republican victories).

Washington NFL thing

Actually the Washington NFL thing is that if they win the incumbent party wins, if they lose the non-incumbent wins.

Let's Hope!

that Cindy will be singing an old Hank Williams Sr. song on Wednesday morning -- "I Heard You Crying In Your Sleep Last Night."
