Anyone who saw the debates knows differently.
...it's best not to even mention 'inexperienced' -- much less make it the centerpiece of your highest-profile ad ever.
Seriously, has the McCain campaign seen the polls that show most Aemricans think SP is unqualified? Have they not read all the newspaper endorsements (many from papers who have never endorsed a Dem)that list the frighteningly incapable Palin as their chief reason for endorsing Obama?
who thinks obama's half-hour specials are not such a great idea? i see the logic behind trying to "close the deal" and gosh, there's all that money to spend. but i just wonder if this opens him up to one last mccain attack -- something along the lines of "look at the hubris of this guy, taking over the airwaves instead of going out and mingling with joe the plumbers" -- that just might resonate with some of those undecided voters who don't want this election to be a fait accompli, even if it all but is at this point.
i'm uneasy about it. i'd rather see the money go into the ground game and down-ticket battles in various swing states and close races.
awesome way to end the ad there, guys...
SCARY VOICE (V.O.)
Barack Obama... Not ready to lead... YET.. (beat) One more week should be enough.
Um, Sen. McCain? Can you cite reputable economists who think the government does NOT need to spend, spend, SPEND to help push the economy out of recession?
Hello? Anyone there? Aren't we "all Keynesian" now? Isn't Keynesian economics a huge part of the reasoning behind the latest Wall Street rescue package, and this year's stimulus rebate checks?
And didn't YOU vote for both?
Just asking!
Those Perot infomercials didn't help him much, did they?
If you want a ground game...just what part of astaff in battleground states by a 10-1 advantage over McCain, plus running spots with a 4-1 advantage...plus national spots on the major networks.
where would you actually throw the money??? Could you be more concrete.
The rationale for the tv show is one half hour of Obama, unfiltered communicating directly to the American people, and reaching out to independents who actually are sick of McCain's negativity.
And in the end...the few millions of dollars this event costs...is very cost effective....
but I will bow to your vast knowledge of how to second guess the greatest campaign organization ever mounted to explain
exactly and I mean exactly where this money could be better spend.
Fuck it, it's just ice.
Sorry if I sound racist, but I am SO sick and tired of seeing Obama's stupid, bucktoothed grin EVERYWHERE that I have now officially named him "Satchmo". "Oh dee shark has, poily teeth, dare...".
Now Satchmo is going to "humbly" broadcast and "honest", "fair and balanced" portrayal of Himself. The Savior. The Idealist. Mr. Wunnerful. The Smartest Man in the Known Universe. Whitest of the White, and Blackest of the Black, he is Perfection.
You think that I am going to watch that CRAP for even ONE MINUTE??? No way. What a PIG.
Obama the Idealist. Here was the big "idealist" who did not think that candidates should take money from lobbyists and special interests so that they could run campaigns on stupid, lying, one-sided, negative ads.
And now, PIG OBAMA, Satchmo Junior, is going to be using the 150 million dollars that he got this month from SPECIAL INTERESTS (in MONEY LAUNDERED FORM), to tell us how wonderful He is.
PUKE ME OUT. What a 1000% SLIMEBALL HYPOCRITE Obama is!!! Even tho I'm a Democrat, I simply CAN'T STAND the jerk. His HYPOCRISY is just SO OVERWHELMING.
Sure, McCain is a bozo. HOWEVER, McCain is actually PREFERRABLE to Obama when you consider that there is going to be a HUGE Democratic majority in Congress. When you combine that majority with Satchmo, you DO have guarantee socialism. You have another Jimmy Cow-turd. Except in black face.
I am still furious that Obama refused to accept McCain's initial challenge to have 10 weekly Town Hall debates. Obama is PIG. He would rather have a STUPID BS campaign based on his negative ads and his 30 minute mis-infomercials.
I can just imagine how that phony-baloney CREEP is going to be jive-talking on his stupid infomercial. A-hole CREEP!
I'm voting for HILLARY!!! I'm a Florida Democrat who voted for Hillary in January, but Obama and his FASCISTS in the DNC refused to count my vote. So they WILL count my vote for Hillary in November.
You're not only a racist, JackWOrf, but also blind.
you have my sympathy...
the burden of racism is a heavy load to carry and one of the reasons your party will be having their own private little civil war soon.
Judging by how the Obama campaign has handled things so far, I expect that tonight's 30-minute "ad" will be very well done. Chances are Sen. Obama himself won't have too much screen time. Instead, he'll have others (well-known, highly respected people) speaking on his behalf, and making the case for why Senator Obama is the best person to lead this country right now. I'm sure it won't be anything like Ross Perot's ad. Sen. Obama's campaign staff has been very smart about not repeating others' past mistakes.
Hillary called and doesn't want your support...she'd rather you reregister as a Lou Dobbs Independent and not hurt her or the Democratic party's name further.
I don't think Palin would even want your vocal support.
BARAK OBAMA is a SCARY BLACK MAN!
...who has been photoshopped badly in that last image.
Did you notice the shot where the "flash" going off behind his head makes him look like he is wearing a fez-like cap? It goes by fast, but it can't be unintentional.
It's "wolves form the woods" time, folks.
The 30-minute TV time is likely to be like the whistle-stop campaigns of the late 18th century. Then, everyone would come out to hear the politician speak, agree or disagree. Now, you've got the faithful who attend a rally, and the news media might show a few seconds of it, and most of the country missing the message. How to reach the people now, like they did over a century ago? Get yourself on TV. And not just on an ad where you "approve this message." Get into people's living rooms, on their DVRs, and talk to them all at once. Get the message to as many people as possible.
