How about Ralph Nader, butterfly ballots and the Supreme Court's conservative bloc.
Someone has to mention Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld, Bush-Cheney-Ashcroft, and Bush-Cheney-Rove.
There. Now on to more creative ideas.
Is it too "easy" to suggest W's 1st Term, W's 2nd Term and a McCain/Palin Administration?

The Jonas Brothers. No, not for their current assault on our tween daughter's wallets, not even for the bizarre leather pants and puffy shirts. In 2038, when Hannah Montana runs for President on the "Best of Both Worlds" campaign, you know she'll stock her cabinet full of Jonases and underwear models. We may not be able to stop her rapid ascent to world domination, but there's still hope to stop the JBs......

President Palin, her replacement for Justice Stevens, and your rights.
Your rights are gonna be sore in the morning.
Voting for Bush, voting for Bush again, and then voting for McSame.
Whenever Republicans bring up this idea that having a unified government is bad, they somehow manage to avoid giving the most recent -- and most illustrative -- example of it.
What percentage of Americans can even describe what checks and balances are? Wasn't some research recently done that reflected as much? People mistakenly attributed way too much law-making power to the executive branch.
After working for many years with high school students and college freshmen, I am not surprised at these findings. Here in New Jersey the idea of a social studies exam as part of state graduation requirements was kicked around but then scrapped for reasons that weren't clear. Too bad - the practice test they tried out had a lot of good stuff on it. We are at a point of functional illiteracy when it comes to basic civics, government and political history.

The real danger will come when the McCain campaign starts to include the phrases "prevent socialist takeover" and "whatever it takes" in the same speech.

Since at no point this year has it looked like the Republicans would win either the House or the Senate this is another desperate attempt (sports term = Hail Mary) by McCain.

It's obvious to me: John McCain, an A1-Skyraider, and an open-air Obama rally.
