Just saw the first few minutes of the first video, and was gratified to see an interview with Anne Kilkenny, who broke the ice on Sarah Palin with her perspective on who Sarah Palin really is. I look forward to viewing the rest of the videos tonight.
The bigger question is whether or not such drives by the christian church is happening all over the country. Most people don't really consider that there is a hidden agenda of a candidate and hope that those running for office really wish to see good governance rather than a self-rightous need to change the world to suit ones beliefs.
This Wasilla Project could easily be misconstrued as a witch hunt. Trying to "out" the next Sarah Palin would be a mistake. What's best is to use Palin as an example of a selfish, self-rightous right wing politician who uses the levers of power to serve the church and then show why this is harmful to society.
Laws relating to single social issues -such as guns, gods and gays- really are what drive a large chunk of the Republican party faithful to keep voting for a party that works against their own interests.
Sarah Palin should drop the christian banner because we all know it's a phony cloth she drapes herself in to avoid scrutiny.
Teen Peganacy is a huge problem for this coubtry but more than that, it goes against christian belief that fornication is wrong. So why would Palin make it seem as though it were something to be celebrated as long as the teen keep the baby?
Palin proceeded to celebrate the baby daddy by dressing him up and parading him around sending a message to other teens, it's ok to have unprotected sex, and if you are of age, and the girl is under age, don't worry about being charged with statutary rape. Don't christians believe in abstinence?
What real christian would take part in any campaign that included hate and/or fear ??? Palin Did.
What happen to, "show love even to those who despise you"?
Are christians suppose to allow thenselves to be part and parcel to any talk or gesture of hate ?? Palin Did.
When does a christian say NO, I will not cross that line into hate, getting in the White House is not more important than getting into heaven. My faith will not allow me to be a divider, or try to reach people using hate. ???
Are you a christian if you let man, or the material world make you go against God and what he expects from you as a christian, isn't that what Palin's church believes ??
Sarah Palin, I ask you, What does it profit a man to gain the world but lose his soul ????
These films are an example of responsible citizen activism. They examine issues relevant to the election, focus on Palin's actual record as Mayor, provide insight into her ability to manage people and finances, and her religio-political ideology. While the people who were interviewed are clearly opposed to Palin, they generally stick to the facts concerning her record. The website provides background information about the film makers, their political views, their goals and objectives in making these films, and their funding sources. There is enough information for viewers to judge for themselves whether the films present an accurate picture of Palin. Salon has already reported most of this information, but it is important to hear the information from those more directly involved and to see some of the supporting documents.
... and air them nonstop for the next eleven days.
