Wow, Barack Obama was fantastic! He won the debate on so many levels. He demonstrated powerful skills of diplomacy, level-headedness, reasoning and charisma. He was detailed and persuasive. He dealt with the attacks in a convincing manner without anger or derision. The difference between these two men is astounding. I can clearly see Barack Obama as President of the United States. I can see him dealing with our enemies and our friends in a coherent, positive way. He will bring a brand new era of goodwill back to America. I wish him all the best as President of the United States. I think McCain and his supporters will be surprised by the powerful positive change Obama will bring to this country. I am very proud to vote for Barack Obama in November.
as the Randians HAVE been doing such a bang-up job for us over the last 8 years, I think we should all vote in McKlan and keep Merica strong!
After all, Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes... raise your taxes...
...to save the day.
The debates are too painful to watch, the angry McCain v. the smug Obama, basking in his white-guilt glory, content with lazy platitudes and robin hood plans. Atlas has shrugged. We are all socialists now. I just hope America changes its name.
CBS, CNN, who cares? Everyone knows these left-wing loony outfits are in the tank for Obama!! These are meaningless! What about Fox?
From the wires: "A focus group of 23 uncommitted voters ... convened for the Fox News network by the pollster Frank Luntz ... also awarded the tie to Mr Obama. While a clear majority said Mr Obama had performed best, when asked who thought Mr McCain had won the tie, none raised their hand."
D'OH!!
From McSames' talk about voter registration "fraud" subverting democracy, seems he's bracing for a defeat followed by a legal challenge.
is yours the same mindset that claims Palin has foreign affairs experience because she can see Russia from an island off the Alaska coast?
I think we are well beyond any rational margin of error...
If the responses were randomly distributed
It would be Obama won- 33% , McCain won = 33% tie= 33%
Standard deviation=23.58
Definite statistical significance...
as if you couldn't guess...
2 Times I thought McCain looked like he was going to go thermonuclear...
Once when Obama easily rebutted the Ayers BS. Then he really looked like he was going to loose it when the talked about the "fine" for not offering healthcare. When Obama said "ZERO" McCain looked dumbstruck.
I think it's not a good strategy to look totally surprised and irritated by everything your opponent says.
Obama was cool as a cucumber and that is just what we need during these times. We do not need a cranky hot-head who can't control his emotions.
Also, McCain just continues to spout GOP ideology non-stop... If he is such a change agent / maverick - why doesn't he tell us what he would do differently? We have hear all this Bull 1,000 times before and I think people are just sick of it.
"Get off my lawn!"
Gee, what an angry guy. I imagine to the Republican base, this plays well, but I can't imagine independents would see this as being presidential.
Senator McCain what is your plan for.....
Senator Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes
Senator Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes
Senator Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes
Senator Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes
Senator Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes
Senator Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes
Senator Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes
Senator Obama is a terrorist who will raise your taxes
Why didn't Obama point out that a complete "spending freeze" would defund the FBI?
One of the "uncommitteds" who was on the CBS webcast said she liked the sound of a complete spending freeze.
It's evident that such a proposal will sound appealing to low-information voters, but no one has bothered to explain what it actually MEANS, and that's a serious problem.
Obama should not run the risk of letting such a disastrous idea (which I think we all know cannot really occur) gain traction as a plan.
The polls measure perception, which I suppose is important. However, the polls tell us very little about how people are actually going to vote, and they tell us little about the actual debate. The debates, in turn, don't really tell us much about the candidates other than how they appear on television and whether they can repackage their stump speeches to answer complex questions in two minutes or less. The discussion period was somewhat interesting in that it proved it is better to let the moderator or people from the audience ask the questions. I prefer not to vote for a presidential candidate on the basis of body language or which candidate sounds better. After last night's debate, we don't know any more than we did before the debate. It would have been nice to know more specifics on how each candidate would deal with the economic crisis. I'm not sure how candidates can cut taxes and pay for the recovery plan, health care, education, infrastructure, new energy initiatives, social security, the deficit, the wars, foreign aid, disaster relief, scientific research, etc. I have no idea how either candidate will address the issue of poverty, homelessness, and hunger in America either. There are real questions about whether the candidates proposals would work, and even more questions about whether the congress would actually support their plans.
Ali's strategy worked to a tee during this, happily, last of the three debates where all saw the dismantling of a once proud, and feisty, moderate senator who signed a Faustian document to gain power he does not deserve, or could possibly manage to bring to fruition.
Obama positioned himself against the ropes and let McAce flail away with confusing rhetoric and angry ideas that have become the mainstay of his (hopefully) last campaign. Methinks, for all intents, he's put himself out of his own misery.
Oh, don't be deluded that he and the Wicked Witch from the North won't be out on the trail lambasting Obama and his surreal past ties to terrorists and college professors. No, they'll use what's left of their time in this campaign screaming hate and fear as they fearfully cling to the deck chairs as the Titanic slowly but predictably corkscrews to the bottom crashing as it hits like one of those jets McAce erratically piloted to it's own ironic version of doom.
Pathetic comes to mind. Sympathy? Not so much given the hate spewing from the collective mouths of McAce and his underwhelming VP candidate. Good riddance.
