Discussing the Republican campaign, the civil rights icon invokes the memory of George Wallace's rallies.

Pale and Palin

Lewis's statements of blunt fact are "beyond the pale"? These people are truly immune to irony. Wonder how much McCain paid for HIS overhead projector.

What's wrong with hatred and division?

They've been political staples for hundreds of years. Let's face facts. McCain knows he will lose. He's aligning his constituency to roadblock the winners at every single opportunity. Look forward to 2 more years of 100% gridlock.

Legitimate criticism?

So now McCain is asserting that all the things being said at his and his running mate's rallies are "legitimate criticism of Sen. Obama's record and positions"? Sorry, John, but misrepresenting the facts of Obama's "associations" in order to imply sinister things about him does NOT fall under that category.

McCain is currently running a commercial in Wisconsin

that claims Obama is a terrorists. And today McCain tried to associate Michele Obama with Bill Ayers because 20 twenty years ago Bill Ayers wife worked at the same law firm as Michele Obama. The man has no honor. And I have no respect for him. He is purposely trying to ignite hatred against Obama along racial, religious and nationalistic lines. The man knows no bounds.

John Mcain: Sad little man

John McCain has reduced himself to a sad little man. If his behavior didn't have consequences for others I would feel sorry for him.

Mr, McCain when you were faced with the pathetic old woman who stated she didn't trust Obama because he was an "ARRRRRRRAB" it didn't dawn on you that she was reprentative of your supporters? It didn't give you pause???

Palen's home

When is the MSN going to pick up on the story about who actually paid for the construction of their home???

... legitimate criticism of Senator Obama’s record and positions?

Has McCain actually engaged in any legitimate criticism?

His campaign appears to be focused on the all terrorist all the time line of argumentation. And they seem surprised by the reaction of their feverent supporters?

The Wallace comparison, made by my congressman John Lewis, seems appropriate.

McCain Now The Victim?

So by McCain's response to John Lewis he now feels that it is he and his sidekick who are the victims? He actually believes that Obama owes him an apology and should repudiate Lewis' condemnation of the racist rhetoric coming out of McCain's campaign? That is beyond the pale!

McCain set off on this course last weekend because he doesn't want to discuss the economy and now he has even higher negative poll numbers because the American public finds this campaign tactic reprehensible. This is 2008 not 1908! We as Americans of all walks of life and ethnicities are going to have to learn to live together and stop this devisive nonsense. It is dangerous and uncalled for. Obama is an American citizen and as such has just as much a right to run for the office of president as McCain who was born to the Naval elite. The so-called maverick sold his soul to devil and has unleashed the violent, uneducated, and Klansmen like masses that has become his base. Moderate and educated Republicans should be ashamed to call him their candidate. I just hope and pray that no harm comes to Senator Obama over the next month or McCain/Palin will be the accessory to a crime because of this heated and racist rhetoric which can cause any right wing nut job to feel its his/her "patriotic duty" to take out "that one". God save the U.S.A.!

Why should Obama?…

McCain's camp states that Obama should repudiate what Lewis said. But the article states that Lewis is one of McCain's "three wise men." Seems to me that McCain cannot control his own potential advisers and want's Obama to do his dirty work for him.

Senator, Lewis is one of the guys you said you were going to hire to give you advice. How about taking the advice when it is gratis?

Know Your Audience

It's a "given" for communicators. Know Your Audience. Let's face it. John McCain and Sarah Palin are not exactly trying to attract the graduating class from Harvard Divinity School or Art History majors of Colby College. They have an audience ready to pounce on any reference to "terrorist" and respond with their own versions of violence and vitriol. And McCain and Palin have not been shy about working them into a frenzy.

Governor What-Would-Jesus-Do Palin, master of lies ("I sold the governor's jet on e-bay for a profit") and intimidation (Troopergate) seems more skilled at inciting a mob than in preaching a gospel of peace. And I seriously doubt that someone whose life is immersed in Scripture would kill God's creatures for recreation. Pro-life so long as you're not a moose or a wolf. Or someone without healthcare.

And now we have Stepford Wife stepping up to the mike. For Heaven's sake. Yes. I believe the "cold chill down her spine." Not hard for her to hide that on the best of days. But to admit her anger because Sen. Obama insisted on a plan to bring her son home.

The campaign is over. There's no time left for McCain/Palin to craft a message for a better America. And when their campaigning spills over into violence, we will know by the fruits of their labors.

Foolish mean old man

So Senator McCain wants Obama to repudiate John Lewis's remarks?!!!??

What does Obama have to do with this?

Is McCain having memory problems? Isn't he the one who said he would have John Lewis as one of his advisors?

Or was that just lip service to get more some?)(any?) black votes?

McCain/Palin should just give it up - Sarah can go back to Mooseland, and McCain can go to one of his many homes - hope one of them has nursing facilities.

Looks like he's gonna need it. Sooner rather than later.

We should all be worried.

McCain and Palin are sowing alot of anger and hatred amongst their followers. And there are alot of crackpots who own guns among them. I really fear that one of them is going to target President Obama.

Also, did anyone else laugh at loud at reading McCain talking about his "character"! The man has proven himself to completely base and characterless in this campaign. He has no class or decency whatsoever!
