"...trying to tear down Obama."

"Unfortunately most common English swear words have gender-specific connotations. But there are a couple that can be deployed for Sarah Palin that will leave no doubt that she is being insulted for something other than her gender: dumbass and asshole. The first is particularly apt for the Couric interviews, and the second applies well to her vicious, fact-free attacks on Obama."
I thought about this more AFTER posting and you're right, those both work just as well and aren't/don't sound sexist.
In fact, none of these words, to me, convey what it is about her that I find quite disturbing. We who perceive this all know what that is, who cares to try sum it up in a word or phrase?

Republicans trailing in polls, "Joe six pack" telling Palin where to stuff her condescending winks, America coming to a consensus that McCain-Palin have nothing in their locker to move the country forward. Right on cue, the Reps do the Swift Boat Shuffle. Desperate people do desperate things. They are using this to question Obama's judgement but their lack of respect for the American people's judgement is mind-blowing. I just hope the voters do not repeat the mistakes of 2000 and fall for this nonsense. This country's future is just too important to end up with this pair in the White House.
I want to apologize to all of you for the years I spent working to achieve equality for women in this country. At the same time, I want to apologize for all the years and the leadership positions I held in the League of Women Voters who instituted this concept of debates for those seeking the highest office in the land--and then threw it to the wolves in the BI-partisan Presidential Debate Commission to run!
What used to be a real debate concept has turned into a circus since the League stopped running them. There are bizarre formats these days, no tough time limits, no moderators who INSIST the participants stick to the question or be penalized by having time to speak taken away from--heck, there's no one developing good questions to ask the candidates!!
After watching the VP so-called debate last night, I confess to being so very, very ashamed to be one of the people who was complicit in helping to change society's attitudes and arcane laws so that this caricature of a feminist could think she's qualified to be in any high political position!
That something which should be a boon to our democratic electoral process has become a thing from which comedy acts are developed.
Sorry, folks. I've been playing computer games all evening to try to rid my mind of the last night but it hasn't worked. I had to let it out.
Please, somebody, tell this old woman that you forgive me.....
Ayers was the leader of the 1960s and 70s domestic terrorist group WeathermanFamous quote: “Kill all the rich people. ... Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents.”
Participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972
Currently a professor of education at the University of Illinois
This progression of events alone should give a pause to any decent person but most of the posters here are so thoroughly victimized by leftso political mindfuck that they will see nothing wrong with it.
Y'all (here's another folksy word for ya, enjoy) see nothing wrong with Obama not only being associated with Ayers but most likely being beholden to him, owing to the fact that Ayers helped Obama substantially at the beginning of his political career. You guys will play three monkeys with the facts, but viciously attack the messenger like a pack of hyenas, whipped psychotic from the howls of one another. That is what passes for "liberalism" nowadays it the West.
The following are facts, lifted from the site that is linked to via my handle:
Ayers and Dohrn, as Weatherman members were responsible for 30 bombings aimed at destroying the defense and security infrastructures of the U.S. "I don't regret setting bombs, said Ayers in 2001, "I feel we didn't do enough."
He spent the 1970s as fugitives running from the FBI. In 1980 he surrendered, but all charges against them were dropped due to an “improper surveillance” technicality. (The fascist must have been asleep at the wheel)
In the mid-1990s, Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn hosted meetings at their Chicago home to introduce Barack Obama to their neighbors during his first run for the Illinois Senate.
In 1995 Ayers founded a “school reform organization” called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC). He appointed Obama as the group's first chairman.
When good Mrs Ayers said: "Now we are everywhere. And next week, families and tribes will attack the enemy around the country. We're not just attacking targets. We're bringing a pitiful, helpless giant to it's knees. Guard your planes, guard your colleges, guard your banks, guard your children, guard your doors." - she meant people like you, don't you get it, idiots?
She is a symptom of the same societal illness: a former terrorist, convicted felon, currently a law professor and a board member of the ACLU.
You guys really see nothing wrong with it? Are y'all really so far gone that y'all think it is all right? You are ready to see Obama as your president despite the fact that for about 12 years he was closely associated with these people and he at least partially owes his political existence to them?
This is the same mythic-membership level of consciousness - group think - us vs. them - my country right or wrong - good vs. evil - myth instead of rational thought - that is also characteristic of pre-rational Christianity (and pre-rational Islam) (my way is the only way) that Palin seems to inhabit (and Bush II also). Arrested development is a widespread phenom, sad to say.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
