I am a Democrat. My preferred candidate was/is Hillary Clinton. But that's history. I am moving on and supporting the Democratic party generally even though I am not thrilled with the Presidential nominee. I certainly know Senator Obama is no terrorist. And his being an acquaintance of Bill Ayers in no way attests to this ridiculous assertion by Governor Palin. That being said, I find it not at all surprising that the McCain Campaign would allow this unfounded attack to be made by Governor Palin. After witnessing the Obama Campaign stand silent, making no attempt at refuting the ridiculous assertion that Bill Clinton was a racist when it was circulating during the Democratic primaries, they should be neither surprised nor defensive. As Bill Clinton says "politics is a contact sport." I would add "it's not touch football." I suspect things will get uglier. Senator Obama needs to play hardball and push back or risk the fate of Senator Kerry and Vice President Gore.
