    It is a nonissue. Guilt by the thinnest of associations. On this basis, we're all guilty of something.

    But the red herring has clearly done its work. Now he is associated with terrorism in your mind.

    This is why I worry about what the next month will bring. Unsupported charges will dominate the race. And even if Obama answers them all, the association will have been made.

    And to the smug Hillaryite (or Republican troll), don't think for a minute that there isn't an arsenal full of questionable Clinton associations.

    I say this with no malice toward Hillary Clinton.

    It simply is true that the Republican smear machine is pretty much ready for anyone, because it operates by innuendo and half-truths.
