Todd Palin was for seven years, until Sarah Palin' ran for Lt. Governor, a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, which calls for the state to leave the United States of America. By all accounts, Barack Obama's ties to Bill Ayers were "not close," while I suspect, based on number of children produced, that Ms. Palin' has had pretty darned close ties to that secessionist rebel. I hope and suspect that both Mr. Biden and Mr. Obama will not lower themselves to this level of discourse. But I also hope that those of us who know Ms. Palin's close ties to a man who wanted to renounce his U.S. citizenship will make sure all our right-wing acquaintances know about it.
