She is really getting annoying and undermining her seriousness.

"Worldview" is a christianist code word

And "Exceptionalist" is a laughable slap in the face to anybody except a NeoCon. (Plus, she used it wrong, obviously does not understand it, just learned it.)

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:21 PM

She is making me want to throw up..

The cutesy shit is really getting old,

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:21 PM

The world doesn't see us as as a beacon of hope anymore

We even got pushed off the human rights panel at the UN.

I realize that Senator Biden can't point that out though.

Live commenting

If she says "team of mavericks" one more time, I'll throw my shoe at the tv.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:23 PM

Please

Make her stop saying "maverick." Please.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:23 PM

my hubby moment

"he is the man we need to leave"

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:23 PM

Palin just said...

"John McCain is the man we need to leave."

Freudian slip?

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:24 PM

Go Go Joe Joe -- calling her on that Maverick shit!

nt

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:24 PM

@AEBarks

Happy now? :-)

I'm also glad Senator Biden addressed that.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:25 PM

just hit me

Watching this debate and Palin's rote, smiling, winking responses. It's somewhat like watching the home shopping network, only somehow worse. It's a info-mercial gone bad.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:25 PM

Biden threw "kitchen table" back in her teeth

Throw the kitchen sink too!

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:26 PM

Debatable Palin

Palin in a nutshell: Wink. Wink. Wink. "Tapped into." Tight skirt. Wink. "Maverick."

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:26 PM

"There you go again, Joe"

Goshdarnit!

OY!! I cannot believe she just said that!

My hubby says she reminds him of that Barbie at the end of Toy Story--"Are they gone yet? Are they gone?? Oh, my gosh my cheeks are so sore! I have GOT to stop smiling!"

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:26 PM

"maverick"

uh, nucular maverick, team of maverick nuculars, reform, change, workin for ya, maverick maverick nucular change maverick ya reform

wink

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:27 PM

Seriously,

thank god he called her out. My face hurts. I think it's all that maverick in the air.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:27 PM

How is McCain going to reach across the aisle..

... when he can't even shake Obama's hand yesterday and totally snubs him.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:27 PM

Changing the tone

Biden needs to remind the voters about Bush saying the same thing.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:27 PM

Palindromes

Oh, and "Nucular." Wink.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:28 PM

Also

Also, also also also also also also ad infinitum.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:28 PM

OMG

shoutouts to the schoolkids? you betcha.

but you go Joe - tell her and the world the truth about the Mavericks - good for you, that was a great shot. Enough about Mavericks, enough.

winks, really? Again, truly insulted by this woman's sense of stage presence, maybe it works on the pageant circuit, but really?

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:28 PM

getting increasingly adorable

Did she just *wink*??!!!

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:29 PM

Ya hey on the Fargo remark

As a Midwesterner I have had a hard time listening to the substance, or lack of substance, of anything she has to say because her very Midwest-sounding accent. She seems like a bizarre hybrid of Marge Gunderson and Evita.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:29 PM

She is winking!

I finally saw it.

Way to question Biden's parenting ability

I can't believe that Palin implied that only mothers cared about the well-being of their children. The emotion Biden expressed when speaking about his family almost overwhelmed him but he pulled through.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:31 PM

Is Ifill the writer of the questions or are they from posts at the network

Whoever wrote them, I'm not impressed. I wanted more on the bailout. I hated both on foreign policy. Now I feel like I'm watching a divorce trial... and Palin is the one with the really bad lawyer.

The earlier gay marriage questions ticked me. They both answered the same- is it a non-issue now?

Increase taxes kills jobs? Didn't she do that in Alaska with the oil companies? Talk about hypocrisy?

Biden on the issue of a timetable for pull out- shut up. YOu sound stupid. SHe won that point.

Palin is killing herself with the expanded time in this debate. It just gives her more ait to fill. I can see the gears showing. Biden looks like he is trying too hard.

Independant viewers will call for Biden, pundits will call for Palin.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:31 PM

"Gonna..."

Gonna barf if I have to listen to her saying, "Gonna," for four to eight years. (Sixteen years????????)

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:31 PM

Counter View

I've watched about 30 seconds so far of the debate. Not sure if I should watch more. It's so bothersome and maybe scary that someone like Palin would be running for VP. It shows what this country has come to.

Do I just have a low political pain threshold? Are you all actually enjoying the debate?

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:32 PM

"Ya walk the walk...

and ya hire people regardless of their political party."

That way you can say you were equally opportunist when you fire people when doing their jobs conflicts with your private agenda.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:32 PM

McCain will fight for YOU!

You know, Biden needs to remind the voters that the Republicans haven't actually changed.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:32 PM

The top of her Limited Game vs. Biden's Finest Moment

Palin is obviously a quick study, although she still can't stop saying "nucyular", can't stop saying "maverick", can't stop wrinkling her nose and trying to cute us. It's all part of her game, such as it is, and she was at least well prepped.

Biden, on the other hand, has been magnificent. Always at his best when debating, this has been without a doubt his finest moment. Stole the show, and it couldn't have been easy with the Noise Machine to his left running full blast, shout-outs and all the other gimmicks.

Great debate, clear winner. This really is the most important election any of us have ever voted in. The choice is pretty clear now. Onward and upward. Get up!

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:33 PM

she is a lying pos

and if I have to hear her voice after Nov. I will simply cease to watch political news.

tax cuts do not create jobs. republicans have a worse job creation record than democrats.

her "folksiness" looks like pure manipulation to me.

she also reminds me of the bitches in high school that you avoid (I'm a female and I'm using that term f2f - women who are bitches to other women).

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:34 PM

I love Joe Biden!!!

If, God forbid, anything happened to Barack Obama, we would be in good hands. His heart is in the right place.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:34 PM

Mile Wide and an Inch Deep

She covered everything but said very little, like icing on a cake, just decoration. Ya Betcha!

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:37 PM

Achilles Heel?

Did Palin not know what is meant by "an Achilles heel" or did she just choose not to answer that question at all?

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:37 PM

VP Debate

Palin is an outrage!! This childish winking and "Oh shucks-doggone it" blathering is totally insulting! She sounded like a beauty contestant answering every question with, "I wish for world peace." Why didn't she just do this debate in a bathing suit and tiara.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:38 PM

Whew!

I think he congratulated her on a good debate, to which she giggled girlishly. Whatever. I can finally exhale!

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:38 PM

Achilles Heel

Did anyone else notice that she appears not to have understood the term "Achilles Heel?" Her response made no sense whatsoever in the context of that term.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 07:39 PM

It's starting already

"She didn't wet her pants or cry, so she did great!"

Way to set those expectations low....

Go Joe Lieberman. Suck up like there's no tomorrow....
