Previous Palin Debates

In the 2006 gubernatorial primate debates, her opponents basically did her job for her. The would bicker with each other and Palin would stay above-the-fray chiming in occasionally.

She will have no such advantage this time around.

Biden's narrow path

He's got to play it carefully, showing Palin's inadequacy without seeming like he's bullying her. It'll be interesting to see if he can navigate between Wasilla and Charybdis.

Her bangs are too long

Every time she blinks, her hair moves.

It has started. Let's get this live blog cranking.

10 past 9

Well two questions, two answers - she hasn't looked stupid yet. so maybe there was a bit of flim-flam. we'll see.

Palin's populist message

Hey Joe Six Pack and Hockey Moms!

No matter how Palin says she and McCain will work for people like you you can't reelect the same people who have been running the country for the last eight years and expect different results!

flim-flam

What sane politician says "I will purposely, repeatedly, stupendously, make myself look like the village idiot in nationally televised interviews, so I'll look awesome in the debate?"

She'll probably be ok tonight, if the questions are kept open-ended and fuzzy enough for her to stick to major talking points.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 06:17 PM

Why is Joe smiling at her?

Don't grin at this nutjob like she's cute! Frown at her in disagreement, and disgust at her lying. Fercrissakes.

Palin' "dig"

about Obama voting "with his party" over 90% of the time.

Obama's been in the Sentae for less than 6 years. All of them under GWB, and most of them under a GOP-controlled congress. Who are immensely unpopular with the American public.

Why would Obama consistently voting with the opposition, voting against the unpopular policy-makers, a bad thing?

Thursday, October 2, 2008 06:18 PM

hey!

paying taxes isn't patriotic!

Does that mean refusing to pay taxes is an act of patriotism?

Thursday, October 2, 2008 06:20 PM

Why should Biden worry about seeming to bully Palin?

If this debate were between McCain vs. Hillary, the idea of bullying the woman wouldn't ever be discussed.

What is she doing to do if he "bullies" her? Cry? She's running for Vice President (and actually President) for god's sake. If she can't handle verbal bullying then she's not fit to be President.

The whole discussion is sexist.

Ultimate Bridge to Nowhere!

woot!

That smile isn't a smile

Juliebird, he's giving her the "you're a ninny" smile. If someone smiled at me liket that, I wouldn't be pleased.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 06:23 PM

that wa lori

I hope he keeps smiling.

(Anyone notice how Palin's eyes get REALLY BIG whenshe puts a button on a point? It's rather off-putting).

misunderestimate?

please tell me you're joking.

Palin Biden debate

Palin won the debate tonight. She did a tremendous job, she

proved the pundits and the press wrong. Biden mis-stated the

facts several times.
