I get it, but Obama is coming off way too nice. I liked it better when he shouted "Enough!" at the convention. At least it sounded less professorial and more impassioned. It seems he's trying way too hard not to be the angry black guy. Unfortunately, for many of us, we are way beyond angry at Washington and Wall Street.
Obviously we must help the most needy Americans -- those who never have enough, no matter how many billions they have!
CEO pay is set by the board, who is of course, appointed by the CEO. All of us who put money into 401Ks (what choice do we have if we want to retire?) get those little notices to 'vote' for the board members and the CEOs. Our pathetic shares against the corporate owners who own billions of shares. Wow.
Then, those CEOs can get to go on TV and say "The American public who is contributing to the 401Ks is VOTING on the CEO pay." Not only did Carly make this type statement, so did all the heads of the oil companies.
Yeah, and the communists voted too.
What Obama should do is REMIND America that McCain wanted to put social security funds in the stock markets. This is the EXACT reason why it was wrong.
The CEOs and others at the top would get the golden parachutes, the rest of us get the golden fleece.
Ain't capitalism and free markets grand?
...but the board is certainly NOT appointed by the CEO; rather, they are normally elected/appointed by the stockholders.
Be that as it may, boards ARE incestuous in nature. Executives of Companies A, B & C sit on the board of Company D and determine the compensation for the CEO of D, who of course, sits on their boards. Much like the way bank presidents get sweetheart deals from their buddy's banks and vice-versa.
... after this debacle, large shareholders will wake up and pass resolutions retricting the ability of executives to loot publicly traded companies.
But Obama's ad is way too soft. Show Carly Fiorina, say how much golden parachute she got, explain that she is a close advisor to John McCain, ask what kind of advice you think he is getting, and what type of cabinet appointments he will make.
Vote McCain and fill the White House with corporate bandits!
No equivocating, no professorial style - It's wrong and it's an outrage. Good job making the ads more direct as we closer to election day.
Will Rogers, the Garrison Keillor of a distant generation, famously said that he wasn’t a member of any organized political party, since he was a Democrat, and that people should invest in real estate since it’s the only thing not being made anymore.
In this market, I wouldn’t invest in real estate, or bonds, or most common stocks; I’d buy gold, silver, and other precious metals and stuff them under your mattress until things shake out. (See: http://money.aol.com/.)

Rush A-home-a: Just because the legislation represents the most significant excursion into socialism in our nation’s history, why take the time to debate and consider all the facets of a bailout? (http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20080929/tpl-uk-financial-bailout-d1a0d5d.html)
After all, Rosh Hoshannah is almost upon us, it’s an election year, and who really gives a damn about the economy being in the toilet?

We will soon see whether it’s true that you can never go broke betting on the ignorance of the American people: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/barackobama/3089433/Barack-Obamas-top-team-believes-he-can-win-White-House-by-a-landslide.html.
If Obama wins, by a landslide or by any margin, buy a few extra mattresses, sell the furniture, hide the kids, save your shekels to pay for reparations, and start learning the details of sharia law because an Obamanian win will irrevocably alter our personal lives and the nature of our nation.

Nowhere in our Constitution is there a provision for a God-less society, nor is there any provision that religion cannot play a role in government. The First Amendment with regards to religion: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
So, three cheers for these pastors who believe in both God and country: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/28/AR2008092802365_pf.html.
Someone should tell Carly Fiorina that "Wealthy fat-cat elitist bastards don't have a God-given right to be rich anymore."
"If Obama wins, by a landslide or by any margin, buy a few extra mattresses, sell the furniture, hide the kids, save your shekels to pay for reparations, and start learning the details of sharia law because an Obamanian win will irrevocably alter our personal lives and the nature of our nation."
We are already there, a la Bushie/Chaney and the Republicans.
The economy is in the tanks; the kids are mortgaged; we are under a radical, fundamentalist brand of Christianity for laws, and our personal lives and the nature of our nation has been changed for at least the next 15 to 20 years unless we do an immediate Intervention for a Nation Interrupted and send all the conservative, evangelical, ideological Republicans into Rehab and/or prison.
