State employees won't testify in Troopergate

Zo, you have relatives in Alaska?

Please don't tell me, anyone, that you're surprised. Would it be the same if a Democrat were governor? The right wing would be all over that place, demanding that pillories and floggings be started. We haff vays of makingk you talk! Jawohl. I wonder if and when we will ever rid ourselves of this new Nazi scourge.

AK Attorney General sez....

Even if subpoenaed, state employees won't testify in this ethics investigation. It's an outrage; almost like saying, 'we don't like the game, so we're taking our ball and going home'. Large in land mass, but apparently very small in minds running the state, Alaska is showing us in the lower-48 just the kind of attitude their governor also displays. She's done a 180 and now says she won't cooperate either! How can a sitting governor do this, when she is the object of the investigation? The more I see, hear and read about the foibles of the guv'nr, the more reminiscent the whole scene is of 'Harper Valley PTA'. They don't like, nor welcome, outsiders and have really circled their wagons in protection of their beloved Sarah.

Are they baiting the Democrats?

Honestly, unless there is something really hideous under the sheets of this what else can it be? "Come and get me" to distract from the economy?

Troopergate, it's such chickens**t. Is it really worth THIS MUCH to the Republicans?

SHEESH!

McCain is Illegally Tampering With Palin Investigation! McCain Must Be Forced to Obey The Law!

Edward O’Callaghan, hired by McCain, is illegally medeling by actively blocking the Palin investigation to steal the election for McCain! Newsweek journalist Michael Isikoff reports “The growing role of Edward O’Callaghan, who until six weeks ago served as co-chief of the terrorism and national security unit of the U.S. attorney’s office in New York, illustrates just how seriously the McCain campaign is taking the so-called “troopergate” inquiry into Palin’s firing last summer of Walt Monegan, Alaska’s Public Safety Commissioner.”

The AP reports today: Democrats charged that the McCain campaign was trying to stall the investigation.

"The partisan presidential campaign of McCain/Palin has interfered and is picking partisan targets to smear in order to make this investigation look like something it isn't," said Patti Higgins, chairwoman of the Alaska Democratic Party. "Rather than cooperating with the investigation, the Republican presidential campaign is doing everything it can to stall and smear."

Where is the media outrage to cry foul! McCain starts by making false accusations against Obama while intentionally and illegally tampering with the legal juriprudence of the Alaska state congress! After the GOP twice stole presidential elections in Florida and last time in Ohio, the media and Democrats must stand to stop McCain stealing the election! McCain is taking an aggressive illegal strategy aimed at shutting down a pre-election ethics investigation into Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin! The media must insist that Callaghan and second unnamed McCain advisor leave Alaska immediately and the investigation and 13 subpoenas be allowed to continue!

McCain knows Palin illegally used her office to fire Monegan over a personal attack against Wooten! McCain knows the ethics investigation report will destroy his candidacy! The investigation and 13 subpoenas must continue and McCain’s illegal medeling must be squashed! McCain wants to make his own law like Bush and must be stopped!

Is this really all about Wooten?

I am beginning to wonder about the Wooten story. Don't get me wrong, I do think that Palin, the Dude and her staff pressured Monegan about Wooten, and I do think they were mad that he had not fired Wooten. But you know, she had been in more than a year -- why did she not act sooner. And why are her staff stonewalling so hard -- I mean at this point confirmation that she was mad at Monegan and/or pressured him to fire Wooten is well, not that big a deal -- everyone already knows or has guessed that she is fibbing -- the Republican base does not care .. it did not hurt her numbers - while this stonewalling is doing much more damage than a report could possibly do.

And so, why? Why take so much damage to conceal something everyone essentially knows. On the other hand, suppose these 10 staffers are required to testify, under oath -- what might they say. Was there another reason she wanted Monegan gone? Something else he was involved in looking into?

In that respect remember why she fired the police chief in Wasilla -- because her campaign supporters, especially the bar owners were mad that the chief wanted to close bars at 2am instead of 5am and opposed the drunks bringing concealed weapons with them -- apparently her campaign contributors wanted this chief gone. Is it possible that something similar happened with respect to Monegan? Was she the recipient of a call about him, a demand that he be stopped? If that was the case the whole thing starts to make a lot more sense -- they are not so worried about the Monegan/Wooten thing -- they are worried about what the investigation might uncover ...

palin staff refuse to testify

Excuse me, but the last time I looked if you were served a subpeona, you did not have a choice but to testify. In other words, if they don't testify, they go to jail untill they do testify. This is the law, this is not a joke. If the information comes out that Sarah Palin did abuse her power as the governor to excuse the ex-brother-in-law, then she needs to answer for that. If she did not, then the media should appologize for attacking her.

However, when a group believes they are above the law, then they simply become thugs. I don't care if they are Republican, Democrat, Libritarian, or greenparty. If you break the law, pay for with the time that is sentenced to you. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Embarassing

This should be the last thing McCain wants, you know? It should be embarrassing to have it even appear that they're trying to bully an investigation. Holy shit; if this is what the republicans are doing even before they get the white house, imagine what its going to be like after Jan 2009! The news media and Obama should be pointing at this and forcing McCain to answer for why they're impeding a legal and bipartisan investigation. Wow. People used to respect McCain for his honesty and integrity. This is some crazy shit.

And if people can ignore a subpoena, well, I think the consequence is that they are held in contempt and go to jail. Isn't that the standard procedure?

What kind of mickey mouse dictatorship is she running up there anyway?
