Thank you Hillary!
I am disappointed that hillary thinks that -- I thought she was bigger and smarter than that, just goes to show you democrats are all about themselves not what is best for our great country.
Apparently, Clinton is doing what she feels is best for this great country. That is why she is working to defeat McCain and Palin.
Great comments from Hillary Clinton. I think McCain just lost the election for the Republican's tonight. McCain looked old and tired and befuddled. The delegates did not know whether to clap or sit on their hands so they did a little of both. McCain wants to make the last eight years disappear but when we wake up tomorrow, Bush will still be president and we will still have all of the problems the Republicans created that McCain seems unable to do anything about.
where was it broadcast, not on CNN
The worst I have EVER heard at this level. Simply amazingly awful.
For anyone to compare Hllary to Palin is nuts. HIlary must be very insulted to be compared to Plain. Hllary is well educated, Pro-choice. Hillary may be a centrist, but she is no far right extemeist like Palin.
These people at the Republican Convention imagine that American oil and gas will only cost a couple bucks per gallon, and McCain plays to that simple-minded fallacy.
American oil goes everywhere, not just to us, and it costs just as much as any other oil.
McCain might get just as much mileage being honest, rather than lying and fantasizing.
What he said.
Terrible speech, amateurish production, revolting delegates.
Hillary must be so used to insults by now that I doubt they phase her any more. The insults that so-called progressives leveled at her during the primary were on par with those of the Republicans during her husband's adminstration -- and then some when it comes to sexism.
Democrats should be quite grateful to Hillary Clinton because she is going beyond the requirements of party loyalty or good sportsmanship.
Naturally nefarious motives will be attributed to her.
McCain leaves the door open to invading Iran, and to fighting Russia. And, it's obvious he will stay in Iraq, even if the fighting there cools off. (But he is disingenuous about it.)
We cannot afford any of that. Johnny Boy, you talk about how much money we send to the Middle East to buy oil, but how about all that money we send to the Middle East with our wars and occupations and conquests? Not to mention the blood and tears. Not to mention that we could have stopped in Afghanistan.
Should have used the word faze rather than phase.
Rule number one for presidential candidates. The contrast between Palin and McCain was painfully obvious. Interestingly, the Alaska police union has just filed (another) ethics charge against Palin. (Unauthorized access of the state trooper's personnel files.) That "reformer" image is getting a bit tarnished. 'Course it's hard to campaign against "Washington" when you're allied with a 30-year senator.
is that politics is her job. And it looks to me right now like she is being a professional and doing her job well. And if she harbors any hurt feelings or any grudges, it looks like she's put them in the freezer for the time being. I'm cool with that.
What a refreshing change from the cult of Obama.
McCain knows how to walk across the aisle.
Obama can't even walk across his own party to even seriously consider Hillary as a running mate. This while the Democratic Leadership plots revenge on anyone who works with Republicans.
I still find it unbelievable that the race is still tied!
How many idiots are out there anyway? I guess S&M is bigger in America than I thought.
Republicans have had Americans over a barrel 22 out of the last 30 years, and it seems they're ready to say "deeper and harder baby, oh yeah! that's it!"
In any case, I believe that this election will come down to Colorado and New Hampshire, believe it or not. I think McCain will win in Ohio--too many hicks in that state.
I've been anxiously waiting to hear directly from the former candidate whose supporters McCain so clumsily tried to lure with his VP pick. Way to go, Hillary! I can't imagine how insulting it must be for Senator Clinton to be compared to Sarah Palin who, despite being female, is antithetical to everything Clinton believes in. If I were her, I'd be furious, and I'm glad she's expressing that in no uncertain terms.
google "palin affair". This could get FUN.
I hope Hillary actually gets something out of this that furthers her goals. Taylor Marsh said it clearly: If Obama had selected Hillary as his VP, there would be no Palin to worry about.
If, as a consequence of her help, Obama decides to give Hillary some juicy plum of a job, I will be down the throat of the first person who whines.
How can McCain talk about being tortured by the Vietnamese army, and then not say anything about American torture?!
We said "thank you". What else do you think we should be doing now? Send a card? Flowers? That would all be kind of sexist, don't you think?
And yes, if Clinton was the democratic VP, there would be no Palin as republican VP. Why don't you find that fact tremendously insulting?
I hope you take that crazy nutjob and the old guy's heads clear off their shoulders and drink blood wine outta their skulls.
It's going to be very odd to see her low brow, self serving, passive aggressive crap used for good.
Oh, and because it must be said every single moment of every single day till November- not only is Palin a nutjob and a homophobic bigot, she is a complete and total liar.
Maybe in a decade Mrs. Palin will be Hillary's peer. Those pantsuits were hard-won, Sarah dear.
It's true that Hillary didn't get the brass ring. But her circumstances are greatly changed from when she started. She is forever out from the shared glory of the Clinton Presidency. She has her own glory now and a lot of it. Millions of votes of it. And a lot of grudging respect, which is in many ways the best kind.
And I find it pretty speculative to state that a Hillary VP pick would block a Palin VP pick. I think Palin was picked for a lot of reasons, not just to steal away Hillary supporters. That's icing on the cake. I've posted around here why I think all of the other major picks had serious defects with various factions of the Republican party. A Hillary - Palin dustup would be epic though. I think we'll see a little of that in the coming weeks. Taking on Hillary nationally is probably a mistake, but I get the sense that Palin is used to getting her away and isn't accustomed to backing down.
I have no doubt that Hillary will look after herself. That's the American Way. My only quibble is that we the public need to get thrown a bone now and again.
