There were plenty of seats in St. Paul for the Republicans' first night of real convention business.

    another reason conventioneers aren't going to the xcel center

    Beside the fact that their party is crumbling beneath them and they haven't the sense to vet their own vice presidential candidate, another reason the delegates aren't making the trip into St. Paul is because thousands of protesters have been in the streets, blocking delegate busses, voicing dissent and confronting a police presence that is extremely repressive of civil rights to protest. Not that this would be noted by the main stream media.
