As for the "history" making of a female VP nominee, I suppose it is in the revisionist Republican's version of history.
Thank you at least for stipping away your pretense of being a Hillary supporter and revealing yourself as just another boring, lame, loser, run-of-the-mill right-wing troll. Yawn.
P.S:
Unfortunately they don't allow picures, but I have a special message for you and all Republicans nationwide:

McCain is 72 and has a history of skin cancer; that heightens Palin's chances of ascending to the President's chair. This makes her lack of experience all the more relevant; at least Obama has foreign policy experience with two years in the Senate.
Biden is going to tear her apart in a vice presidential debate; it will be depressing. I think I'm with other posters here that this nominee will be withdrawn--it wreaks of Harriet Myers: we tried to pick a woman, but there were none qualified. Fuck that, and fuck the GOP.
Benny, no one cares what you think. You had your eight years. Say goodbye, Benny.
At first glance, this looks like a move to lure in some women unhappy about Hillary. But the shallowness of that is just too stupid, even for the GOP. I'm beginning to think it's actually designed to prod some casually conservative types who may otherwise have stayed home, and to light a fire under the abortion crowd. (She can't really do harm to the white boys who might be pissed about a woman on the slate, but will still vote for McCain to keep Obama out.)
Yep, this joke was funny for a moment, but I'm finding myself joining the camp who thinks it's best taken seriously. The poster who said she's going to be used to turn this election into a tired-but-true guns and abortion story is probably on the money. Extra bonus: She'll be positioned as the champion of solving the oil crisis: Drill ye tarriers, drill!
P.S. Does anybody really think McCain had much to do with this pick? I see McCain as just another link in the chain of fools controlled by the corporation of Cheney, Rove and Co.
Without Alaska, the United States would have absolutely no claim to any of the oil and gas in the seabed within the Arctic Circle. There are five countries competing for the natural wealth in the frigid zone: the USA, Canada, Russia, Norway and Denmark. If anyone, worldwide, wants to read/wr smutty gynaecological stuff a forum on political developments is probably the wrong rendezvous. There must be a wall nearby where obscene graffiti can be written.
Sarah Palin looks to me like the McCain-era Michelle Bachmann. You all remember when our esteemed congresswoman (I'm from Minnesota though I'm in Keith Ellison's district) unfurled her leathery wings to embrace Georgie at the state of the union, right? More of the same here. Only, you know, way closer to the center of power. ShudDER.
is that they often start to believe their own B.S.
They created the mythical PUMAS to mess with the narrative of the Dem convention and now they are making choices based on the idea of capturing the PUMA vote.
Sarah Palin was a nice curveball. But as some in this comments have noted in a spot-on way, it completely reinforces Obama's strengths: Change, Youth, Turning the Page - that's what this election is about and voters have a choice between a half-hearted cynical, smokescreen (McCain/Palin) or the real deal (Obama/Biden).
Biden et al. will have no problem attacking Palin without seeming disrespectful to women.
To begin with, a simple question to pose again and again to Palin: Would you have let the government interfere with your decision to have a child? (Assumed Answer: NO FREAKIN' WAY!) Then why would you let the government interfere with other women's decisions to have a child? Why is your decision more important than their decision? Why do your beliefs have to be become their beliefs? Biden is a Roman Catholic so I think he has struggled with the abortion debate just as much if not more than Palin with her theocratic absolutes.
Playing this out further, Biden could tie gun ownership (a Palin highlight) with abortion and "pro-life."
Owning guns is very dangerous and the easy access to guns in this country has made violence and death far for frequent than in other nations. This is a fact. Yet, in this country, we respect adults their freedom and we hope they use that freedom responsibly even when we know they often won't. But that doesn't mean we destroy that freedom all together. Just like we have reasonable gun laws, it makes sense to have some reasonable restrictions on abortion (I'm taking REASONABLE not the fascist stuff the right-wing has passed in many states).
But though a lover of human life knows lives will be saved with an absolute ban on guns, we tolerate guns because it is American to choose freedom over control. The same applies to abortion - yes, some women will use abortion irresponsibly, but the vast majority will not. Therefore it is UNAMERICAN to control other women's bodies and deny their freedom even if we know that in a perfect world this human potential should not be sacrificed.
Another good tack is health care and family leave. As Governor, Palin had extraordinary flexibility to control her schedule. Sure she was back at work 3 days after giving birth, but I bet she had a lot of help and support offered to her. Do average working women get the same help and support? I doubt it. Did Palin breast-feed (and is she still breast-feeding now?)? Was her baby with her in her office those first few weeks (bottle-feeding should wait at least a few weeks after birth)? Where was the baby? Do average working women get a place at work to keep their newborns close at hand for breast-feeding? Or is that only a privilege that powerful white GOP female elected officials get? Also, how was health care during her pregnancy? I assume it was gov't health care - paid for by the State of Alaska. How was that plan? Was she satisfied with it? If gov't health care worked for the Governor of Alaska, why is it wrong for millions of other Americans? Why are the GOP's "family values" a bunch of empty slogans? Because it is a double-standard - you are on your own unless you are wealthy or powerful (or wards of the state like McCain and Palin who gladly accept gov't health care for cancer or childbirth).
Hmmmm...sounds to me like Palin's conservative redmeat hockey mom persona is quite easy to poke holes in. The question is whether Biden is going to practice his talking points and keep his motor mouth under control. Message to Biden: This election isn't about you and your ego - the future of America hangs in the balance so think hard about these nuanced attacks on Palin's dinosaur ideas and don't SCREW IT UP!
