Gov. Palin and Iraq

Asked about the surge in 2007, she said she hadn't "really focused much on the war in Iraq."

The letters thread is now closed.

"Focusing on Iraq" didn't do Biden any good. He came up with the worst answer in the whole class...

Ha!

I love it! Biden is going to DESTROY her in the VP debate.

Hey, It's only Hundreds of Billions of Dollars

Palin's non-response demonstrates that this woman is an idiot. Aside from the obvious deaths and devastating injuries to our servicemen and women, we the American taxpayers have been saddled with an enormous deficit ballooned by a staggeringly expensive war we cannot afford. Got an opinion on that Palin? Or doesn't it effect you because your state is swimming in oil profits?

Friday, August 29, 2008 03:16 PM

Oh God.

Sarah Palin is a smart, educated person. She *must* have an opinion. But the quote you found makes her sound like Britney Spears (and also Clarence Thomas, and his "no opinion" on Roe v Wade). Glad she's bringing the substance to this competition.

For it before against it

Well, as of now, no one can accuse her of being for it, before she was against it. IT = an opinion on foreign policy

Her son is about to be deployed..

...and she hasn't "really focused much on the war in Iraq"? As a parent, I think I'd be dwelling on it quite often if my child was getting ready to deploy to a war zone.

Friday, August 29, 2008 04:08 PM

I think she'd better START

Since Iraq and what to do about it has already been and will continue to be a defining issue of this campaign.

Sorry, John. If I wouldn't vote for Hillary, in the primaries, Palin has no chance.

I dont' know if you noticed, but over the last four days, the PUMA's became an endangered species through sheer scarcity and were never exactly the "great female menace" the MSM tried to convince us they were.

Friday, August 29, 2008 04:22 PM

So She's A Bad Mom Then

Her son is going to a war in which he could die, but she hasn't thought much about it. Well, I guess with so many kids one doesn't make much difference.

I notice too that this makes James Dobson happy. So, PUMAs, time to see: are you really this gullible? And in Hillary's words--were you for HER or for the country?

I mean, the personality cult, it's a bit Republican, innit?

Dear God

Please for the love of all that is holy let Obama win.

If not...we're doomed. Just...doomed.

Experience or Judgment?

George H W Bush thought that Dan Quyale was the best person in all the county to be president should the Vip be called upon. He also had views as to who, in all the legal profession, was the most outstanding to be elevated to the Supreme Court

His son thought he could tell when someone was doing a heck of a job.

Now, John McCain has selected who he believes is the next best person to be president of the United State, after him.

Few have held as responsible positions in government as Bush Sr. Few have served as long in the Senate as John MCCain.

Clearly the Bushes and McCain have had long and honorable experience. Experience that Obama lacks.

Yet what good is experience if it lacks good judgment? McCain thinks the war in Iraq is a good idea. Obama does not.

Come election day. Experience or judgment?

Not too heavy

You can't weight much as a beauty queen, so I guess it should be no surprise that "Lightweight" pretty much sums her up. I won't speculate as to her intelligence, but my God! She's up for being a septuagenarian's heartbeat away from the most powerful position on earth and her qualifications for the world stage make Monica Goodling look like Madeleine Albright!

McCain's group must be looking at way different polls then the rest of us. A move like this smacks of got-nothing-left-to-lose desperation.

Friday, August 29, 2008 04:54 PM

You know...

It's just possible that she might by lying as ordered. Sounds like the tried-and-true political mantra, "I have no recollection... I have no recollection... I have no recollection..."

@Juliebird

Sarah Palin is a smart, educated person.

Oh, really? She's a CREATIONIST. That's right, she doesn't believe that evolution exists. Ask her how tuberculosis becomes drug-resistant, ask for her explanation. Apparently this woman should become president should McCain croak, and tell the scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that what they've been observing is pure fiction, that no way, no how, do organisms mutate or evolve.

You call THAT a "smart, educated person?"

My god (no pun intended), your judgment is seriously impaired, Juliebird.

it's all about oil

The only reason Mccain picked Palin is because he wants to get his fingers into the oil drilling biz. She is willing to drill there no matter what the costs to the plant. Pro-life because she had a downs baby? Please! with what we know now that is not the reason women have abortions. She's willing to send a whole grown person to war. If death is death no matter what to these pro-lifers than war is death! She is no H. Clinton! It won't change my mind! Hear that Mccain?

VP McCain and ral cancer risk

It looks like McCain may have made a mistake. He only talked with her one time and that was last week about being VP. There appears to be several major issues. I'm not a Rep. But he am shocked about a rash decision. He was close in the polls.

One example, is that on Kieth Ober;and's show, he mentioned that she has an infant. I have not verified this. The baby has some severe problems.

Now the talking heads are starting to talk about McCain's 2 serious runs with cancer. The last one needed a 5 hr operation. He really had some really, good other folks. No one can say tha tit will not come back quickly,
