And her logic sounds like an IQ of about 40. It's the Texas GOP. Why is this ad getting any publicity outside of that state, Alex?
Everytime that there is a news story about the Texas Republican Party, it is about them sinking lower and lower into villainy. If every one in Texas still wears ten-gallon hats, these are obviously the people wearing the black ones!
McCain doesn't know how many houses he has---that's a clear signal that he's out of touch (and the campaign as well who should have seen that question coming) This ad isn't a response to that. Obama's father left his mom and him when he was a toddler to go back to his wives in Africa. Obama does not need to support his half siblings there. I suppose Democrats could come back with how Cindy has almost disowned her half-sister who received nothing out of her father's will and receives nothing from Cindy to this day. Hopefully, the Democrats won't stoop to that--we need to get back to the issues please.
Did we just hear about Mrs. McCain's sister, who got none of their father's money, whom Mrs. McCain never even acknowleges?
After the news reports last week about Cindy McCain's half-siblings, these Glass-House Repubs choose to throw that kind of stone?
I mean, really, can't someone do a TV spot asking why Cindy's sibs can't crash in one of her spare pads?
I don't think these racist scumbags can sink any lower....actually, I'm sure they will surprise me.
This news-site has expended countless words decrying the covert and, at time, overt sexism that HRC faced during the primary.
It is high time to focus our energies on the blatant, overt, toxic racism that permeates every move the republicans make. John McCain, by virtue of his policies, his political philosophies, his judgment and the people he has chosen to surround himself with, is not an acceptable leader for our time...period.
This site's focus on HRC's "plight" is highly problematic. The underlying progressive foundation of Salon.com is compromised by the constant hand-wringing over the past. This election is too important...the future too uncertain to cut off your nose to spite your face..
There is one rational choice for President this cycle...and while he is not perfect, he is not a war mongering, un-principled hack whose overlying ambition is to win power regardless of the stains that task may place on his character.
Tit for tat. I'm sick of watching the Democrats rolling on their backs and peeing on themselves everytime one of these discusting Republican attacks hits the airwaves. Texas turns more purple with every passing year. Texas Democrats need to hit back hard and often.
I grew up in Texas, and I wish I could say I am surprised by this.
One of these days, I'll get the hell out of here.
I love the new-look Republican party. They are finally listening to their democratic comrades across the aisle. Big Government and ENTITLEMENT programs are IN!
True Republicans, of old, should be clamoring for their party back.
So, I should dream that I have so many houses that I can't even count them? Each house burning fossil fuels. Each house accelerating Global Warming. Each house compressing finite topsoil. Each house adding to runoff and thus flooding. Each house contributing to deforestation. Each house increasing loss of habitat for other species.
So, that's the American Dream?
A hot, deforested planet with floods and extinct species?
Great! I'll get right on it! Fire up the bulldozers, boys! Make those chainsaws sing! Die, bunnies, die!
...And yet, not at all unexpected from the Texas GOP, which gave us George W. Bush and which has raised the dual Arts of Hypocrisy and Projection to astonishing levels.
Hypocrisy, because this is the very party that supports policy after policy guaranteeing many Americans will never rise out of poverty and many more will enter it.
Projection, because Cindy McCain has tried to hide the existence of her own two half-sisters while somehow managing to become the sole heir to her father's vast beer fortune while one half-sister wound up with $10,000 and the other...who knows?
Stick around for a few more years. Things are going to get really interesting here in the next 10 years.

Austin
Cindy McCain has a half-sister, Kathleen Hensley Portalski, from her father's first marriage. When Cindy's wealthy father died, he left tens of millions to her but only some $10,000 to her half-sister Kathleen. Cindy certainly knew about her half-sister, who lives in the U.S., but she not only declined to share any of her huge inheritance but also portrayed herself as an only child -- in effect denying her sister's existence.
This is so akin to how Rove slimed McCain in 2000 that it is breath-taking. But watch this -- the silence from his campaign about this shitty, shitty smear. So much for condemning "agents of intolerance."
McCain is just a gigolo. He doesn't know how many houses he has because Cindy doesn't trust him with the information.
Why not use cindy mccain's half sister who was disinherited and lives modestly while she owns 10 houses?
Cindy McCain's father was a drug dealer. Hundreds and perhaps thousands died because of his drug (PAN CEMETERIES). Children became orphans (WEEPING CHILDREN). Wives became widows (WEEPING WOMEN). Livers hardened (DYING PATIENT IN HOSPITAL) as Ms. McCain's heart hardened (LAUGHING CINDY AT COUNTRY CLUB). With all the beer-driven dyin', the only thing that was soft about Sugar Mama McCain and her kept man was easy livin' (MCCAINS BOARDING THEIR PRIVATE JET). 7 houses. Count 'em (SHOW THE SEVEN HOUSES WITH A COUNTING).
Is this the convenient end of the GOP mantra of "Personal responsibility?"
According to Republican Party, George Obama is supposed to have some stake in his own life, and if he's saying that the media has distorted his living situation, that wouldn't surprise me.
When I saw this article in the New York Post, I thought to myself: "This will appear in the ad wars."
Lo and behold...
People ought start arguing that Republican Party tactics are a shadowy echo of the Nazi Party. As as matter of fact, Bill O'Reilly and his ilk often ludicrously claim that of organizations like MoveOn.org or Daily Kos.
As Krugman said in the NY Times, it is time for Obama and DNC to get negative.
