Same Old Crap

Are either one of these two clowns actually going to talk about issues? Or is this infantile drivel supposed to pass for legitimate discourse?

Good question, event

I seem to recall that in 1992 Ross Perot tried to talk about the issues. Even before he later self-immolated, the reaction of the national press corps focused less on issues and economic problems and instead focused on "Lookit that, he's using pie charts! How ridiculous!"

Maybe that's why candidates don't talk about issues: because the political reporters don't know how to cover issues.

Yes imagine the dead silence from Mancrush Matthews

Candidates who don't pander to penises and pop shock shit won't get the gigantic empty screaming head of Mancrush Matthews paying any attention to them at all. As it is, everyone is talking about this add. There is no such thing as bad PR.

Good choice of words to tie to McCain

"Same" and "Old"

@Event

You're right - they should really be using their 30-second commercials for detailed policy proposals.

Issues?

The candidates don't talk about issues because the media isn't interested in issues. The media isn't interested in issues because the public doesn't understand the issues.

Unfortunately, for most Americans this is little more than a popularity contest. They might as well replace American Idol with American President.
