I think either Sebelius or Kaine would be great choices. Though, by reading many of the posts on Kaine, many folks don't recognize him or what he can bring to the ticket: gubernatorial experience, strong potential to bring in Catholic and working-class "Hillary voters", excellent Spanish-speaking skills and popularity with Virginia's large Latin American immigrant populations, reputation for being fiscally responsible. Joe Biden is just too much of a risk -- a man too wrapped up in his own political ambition (and superbly self-confident "knowledge on the issues") to not, intentionally or not, try to overshadow the younger, less experienced Obama. Much like Hillary as vice-president would be.
Real shock. Only not.
At what point are you going to realize this country's in so much trouble people want the best person? Now we have an article from Joan talking about if Bayh and Kaine are really the best Obama can do.
The cable news networks are discussing Kaine ad nauseum, with mentions of Bayh and Biden close behind. I'm sorry there were four people on that list weren't there?
Sebelius won because she's the most competent and accomplished. I actually hope Obama does choose her. It would send out the right message: i.e. people should be rewarded, not penalized for doing and a good job, and that we should pick the BEST people when all of our future's are on the line. Not just the most politically expedient.
" On January 7, 2007, Susan Bayh exercised her options to acquire 3,333 shares of Wellpoint for an estimated cost of $147,000 and sold them the same day for an estimated price of $260,000, netting a tidy sum of $113,000. She repeated the process on May 17, 2007 for a net profit of $136,000. On December 11, 2007 she dumped an additional 1,430 shares of Wellpoint for $123,000. Why not? The entire Wellpoint board of directors was doing the same thing.
Bayh’s total profits from stock dumping were $372,000. How much health care could the state of Indiana purchase for $372,000?"
Many reports of her "salary" income from a number of companies that she seems to do very little.

why Sherrod Brown, Senator from Ohio hasn't been mentioned as a possible VP. He's young (55) has experience (14 years in the House, 2 as a Senator) and is from an important state. He has a strong progressive record and should help Obama on the economy. He should have got more attention, but now I think its too late.
yes, I was a supporter of hillary all the way and wanted her to win this thing, hands down. BUT..... I kind of soured on hillary back in april when I heard about her " reaching out to those CATHOLIC moderate's/women especially!" having been mistakenly raised in that piece of fucking shit church, but long having wised up to their "god" of fire and damnation bullshit[ age 13 when I told their version of "god" to kiss off!];I would NEVER trust any one whom believe in that church.[ nor the craptists,pent-up-costals, or any evangelical " shove god's morality{hate and fear of sin!} down your throats, church!]
my question then toward ms hillary was " how could you cater to those " morality-freaks" whom belong to the same church which is out to take away all women's rights to abortion, birth control, whatever???
now kaine is a " dang nabbed" roman catholic and strong pro-lifer? if he is, then I say " go ask the goddamm pope to be his vice president of vatican city!" notice that ITALY, a country which adopted our fabled USA consitution- especially the " seperation of church and state" part in it-then created its own based upon such ideas- then made " vatican city" SEPERATE from the actual " city of roma" and yes, the country of ITALY!
and so, barring hillary[ whom I don't think obama/democrats want]- that leaves 1. claire mc caskill- a perfect feminist, pro-choice woman for the job.
or......sebelius- the moderate, feminist democrat gov. of a state so religious right " christian" and " red" that the huge triple crosses in front of every fundamentalist church in that state probably literally bleed red blood in honor so " soldier john mc cain" [ that, or maybe they use those crosses when they still burn lesbian women in those very same churchyards?? scary thought indeed!]
Tastes Bullshitty.
Nobody knows Sebelius or McKaskil. Besides, they're nowhere near the same league as Clinton. If Clinton isn't chosen for
VP, a lot of people will not vote for Obama.
Why don't we do the vote again with HILLARY as a choice???????!!!!!!
BTW, I like Schaller's lighter posts. At least the War Room gets updated more. Gives us all something to bitch about at work. I like hard news, and SOFTCORE news.
When I worked at a small daily newspaper, our traffic would go up 10,000 percent whenever we would write about UFOs and Chupacabras. The internet is mostly full of crazy people, like me.
So keep up the good work! And let us vote for HILLARY!
