Welcome Tom Schaller

I am an admirer of your Whistling Past Dixie, and have generally thought your comments on the Democratic coalition have been sensible. Good luck with the posting.

Welcome

Welcome, welcome.

We are looking forward to finding out what you have to say.

worthy of comment

If there were such a thing as a snoot meter your use of the phrase "down ballot items worthy of comment" would cause the meter to red line. Although local issues need not occupy the time of you "national pundits", they are important, dare I say, locally, whether or not you comment. Perhaps your perch is a bit too lofty for you.

Welcome, Tom...

I haven't read your Whistling Past Dixie book, but I've seen you on TV talking about it, and overall, it looks as if Obama may be taking your advice to some degree. Kudos (and kudos to the Obama campaign, even more).

One word of advice on this War Room gig: Don't read the comments, including this one. Alex probably already gave you that advice or a variation on it. We commenters here are all headed to China to compete in the Olympic shoot-the-messenger competitions.

What, weren't there enough...

'Obama can do no wrong' acolytes on the Salon roster?

Great to have you on War Room, Tom!

Lord knows we need some relief from Alex Koppelman, who oftentimes seems to be the wrong guy for this blog...
