Please don't

Obama should stay far, far away from anyone who was ever part of the Bush administration. Nothing would let the air out of everyone's balloon faster than a VP choice that screams "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

Oh stop it!

This cannot be true. I'm no fan of Hillary Clintons, but if this were to happen -- a female rethug for Dem VP??? -- I will personally go into full outrage mode, and will be part of the angry mob marching on the convention in Denver.

I'm not kidding. Geez.

No. Hell No.

A Bushista infecting the Obama cabinet? Hegel, maybe. Maybe. But not an actual republikan. Hillary supporters would be very justifiably pissed off, big time. They'd have the right. a woman, mayhaps, but one of ours, not one of their Pleasantville pansies. No. Hell no.

see people?

see people?! Obama is a farce and a Bush-lover. Look at how Obama supported Bush and the Fise bill that allows the government to spy on us. Talk about trolls... Obama is the biggest. He has shown time after time after time that he is power hungry and will do and say anything. His wife is no better either.

So great. We are suck with Mccain Bush number 2 and Obama Bush lover wannabe.

Where are the superdelegates gone? Please come back and save us and the democratic party from itself!!!

Sure, thinking that you are good enough to be President requires some degree of an inflated ego... but Obama's makes me want to purge. He's a scumbag. CHANGE. Oh yeah, bring back the Bushies. He will do anything to get in power.

And did anyone else see Karl Rove's new map. This is the weirdest thing ever. The most evil person in the world trying to influence the press for Obama. He must be foaming at the mouth. Obama will be easier manupliate than Bush. Its classic class envy. Grow up in a poor, mixed, lower-middle class family, and they can't help themselves. The taste a bit of power drives them mad and they will stop at nothing to get more.

rove

the real winner in the next election is karl rove. who has assured that he will have the puppet strings whether a republican or democrat wins. god help us.

For Pete's Sake Search Team...

CHOOSE A DEMOCRATIC VP!!!! We WANT a Democratic VP!!

There are plenty of qualified candidates to choose from. We don't need a Bush Retread! Honestly, they'd BETTER be kidding. It would be a huge slap in the face to the whole party. And a great way to snatch defeat from the jaws of likely victory. Non-partisanship can be carried too far and this would be an instance of this. It would outrage a hell of a lot of people, and not benefit himself or his campaign.

I think and hope Obama's politically astute enough to realize that.

Jeez, even John Bratwurst McCain is smart enough to realize that!

Obama promised a "Team of Rivals"

He continues to deliver a Team of Traitors.

@mateostgo

see people?! Obama is a farce and a Bush-lover.

Aren't you jumping the gun a bit? A political blog reports that someone on Obama's VP search team mentioned a name, and you're talking about it like it's a done deal.

Ohmigod, no!

She would not please women. Do you estupidos not know that women are not interchangeable parts? Nor is she interchangeable with a Democrat; she was a terrible, TERRIBLE office holder.

just wait and see

@-- Alkaline

I'm a good judge of character.. almost physic, really. i already sound like a nut, so ill say it.

But vote for Obama and you'll see. He's a snake. A wolve in sheep's clothing. I'm not saying Mccain is any better. But if Mccain wins this time, he won't last. It would be an unremarkable presidency and give the democrats 4 years to save themselves.

But pick Obama, and he'll hand the nation to rove on a silver platter. You don't understand how these kinds of people think. Obama is very dangerous. I said the same thing about Bush eight years ago. But one assumes that a republican will be evil and hand the country over to oil and weapons companies. But Obama will do the same thing. It's just sick, though, that he wears the suit of someone who pretends to care about the people. Obama will be so easy for the power brokers (Trilaterial comission, carsyle group et al) to wine and dine. Look at his shifty morgage from a chicago mafiaoso....

WHY?

Why would they even CONSIDER Republicans?

As an old fashioned bleeding heart liberal (and proud of it) who has voted Democratic in every election since I first voted in 1972, I will NOT vote for Obama if he chooses a Republican running mate - even if it was a "moderate" one - and she sounds far from moderate. For a former member of the BushCo cabinet to even be brought up as a possibility gives me a really really apprehensive feeling about what Obama would do to suck up to Republicans if he gets elected.

@mateostgo

I've got over three months before I have make any decisions. Since I'm pretty certain that I'm NOT psychic, I'll have to do it the ordinary way by watching what happens in the meantime.

Friday, July 25, 2008 06:49 PM

And the mystery former Bush cabinet member is

...............Colin Powell. Duh.

Friday, July 25, 2008 07:10 PM

No way

I hope this is just obligatory VP search windbagging. No way in hell would it make any sense to have a Republican VP on a Democratic ticket. It's hard enough having Democrats behave like Democrats these days, but doing that would just be a terrible move. I hope nothing like that happens.

Friday, July 25, 2008 07:25 PM

A good Republican, maybe okay...

But this obscure nobody, forget it!

Why is nobody talking about General Clark anymore? Genera Powell is ineligible, due to his UN speech, and utter cluelessnes. But General Clark? Geneheral Clark? Okay.

Friday, July 25, 2008 07:51 PM

VP choice will be a conservative

The search committee hasn't floated a single name that wasn't either a Republican or an ulta-conservative Democrat, which means that Obama's choice will almost certainly disappoint anyone to the left of Holy Joe.

The guy seems to think this is a business-as-usual election when clearly people are looking for some real change this time around. A repeat of the Gore 2000 campaign isn't going to cut it, but it looks like that's what we're going to get, unfortunately.
