Everyone knows that McCain meant leaving the CONTINENT, not the country. Come on, give him a break. He's a war hero who was tortured and made propaganda videos for the communists. All these 'gotcha' moments you are highlighting just shows him to be human. It's endearing to a lot of people. And those people are going to vote for him. Besides, now that Obama has vowed not to persue investigations or prosecutions of any official in government during the last 8 years, McCain is our only hope for seeing justice done to the Bush administration.
And would you consider the Economic Club of Canada a rally, or a political gathering?
Besides, now that Obama has vowed not to persue investigations or prosecutions of any official in government during the last 8 years, ...
Your post is the first time I've seen such a statement. What is your source for this information?
McCain would rather wait to be president before speaking in a foreign country? Why? Where the hell is the logic in this statement? There is none--it is a meaningless statement.
Apparently, getting shot down in a fighter jet and 5 years as a POW is not qualification to speak in a country that is not connected to ours.
However, getting shot down in a fighter jet and 5 years as a POW is qualification to be president AND speak about economics in any country connected to ours.
It seems. Today at least.
He visited, and wore a helmet and a flack vest, and walked through a Baghdad market, looking terrified, with US helicopter gunships above and a battalion of elite troops around him.
And then he came back home and tried to tell us how safe and lovely Baghdad had become, thanks to the US Army.
I just love how, while Obama's talking to 200,000 Germans in Germany, McCain's bitching about Obama from a German restaurant in Ohio -- this the same McCain who roundly complained about Obama's lack of foreign policy experience, and who challenged Obama to go to Iraq. So, Obama goes to the Middle East, to the hot spots, to Europe, and does very well, and Mad John's bitching about that, too. He's just so cranky these days. He needs to hire Mark Penn, I think, to get his campaign going again. Hahah!
Let us see how many times the Corporate Media calls Obama "Presumptuous".
McCain challenges Obama to visit Iraq and Afghanistan, to prove his foreign policy credentials. Obama takes up the gauntlet, makes a trip that was well-run, well-covered and wildly successful, and now McCain wants to complain about all the attention Obama is getting. Well, gee, John: you asked for it, and now you got it.
McCain once called his "base" the media which has been so friendly to him over the years, and now gripes that the media went off to cover Obama's overseas trip -- which he encouraged, and which is certainly more attractive than McCain's pitches at midwestern supermarkets and cafes -- network anchors want foreign policy gravitas, too, and to have a presence in foreign capitals is good for their image, too. I don't know what McCain thought would happen if Obama made a world tour, but anyone with half a brain could have seen this coming.
What it really boils down to is jealousy. McCain thought Obama would hit the road, flop and give him plenty of material for the campaign. Instead, Obama hits the right notes, including getting an endorsement from his Iraq policy from the president of that now supposedly sovereign nation, and winds it up with a speech before 200,000 in Berlin. McCain couldn't draw an audience of 200,000 -- anywhere -- if he paid them, and that's what's got his goat.
Touche, Barack.
McCain is such a pathetic example of Presidential Candidate material its mind boggling. He is the same mindless airhead Bush has been for the last 7 1/2 years. What is it about Republicanism that creates this type of twit???? He spends his time trying to extract his foot out of his mouth due to erroneous things he has said. It's terrifying to think this might actually be the President one day! How any American can take this guy seriously is truly frightening? The only reason can be pure racism or ignorance.
and self-contradiction are symptoms of his contempt for the public.
Come on, give him a break. He's a war hero who was tortured and made propaganda videos for the communists.
And that qualifies him to be President by... ? Take your time, I've got all day.
All these 'gotcha' moments you are highlighting just shows him to be human. It's endearing to a lot of people.
"Endearing"? ENDEARING? That's your criteria for President of the United States? Why don't we just elect Reese Witherspoon, then? Pity Michael J. Fox couldn't run before he got ill, being foreign-born and all. He'd have been a shoe-in.
Yes, doddering, forgetful old men are indeed endearing. I prefer not to have one of them in charge of the United States' ridiculously large nuclear arsenal.
Besides, now that Obama has vowed not to persue investigations or prosecutions of any official in government during the last 8 years
That's the one with the what, now?
. . . how very much on the defensive the McBush campaign is.
I love it!
Will Media Report Concert Before Obama's Berlin Speech?
News busters.org
By Noel Sheppard July 24, 2008 - 13:38 ET
Remember back in May when media gushed and fawned over a huge crowd in Portland, Oregon -- supposedly gathered to hear the words of Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama -- but chose not to report the free concert given before his speech?
Well, it has been learned that before the presumptive Democrat nominee spoke to a crowd in Berlin Thursday, two popular German acts -- reggae artist Patrice and rock band Reamonn -- entertained the gathering audience.
Will media report this tonight, or just gush and fawn over the huge crowd again?
While you ponder, here's what was reported by Spiegel Online moments ago (h/t Hot Air and Gateway):
++ Pop Concert for Obama Fans ++
6:33 p.m.: The tens of thousands of Obama fans are being entertained as they await the senator. The reggae musician Patrice kicked things off, followed by the rock band Reamonn.
I'm sure this will be part of ALL media reports concerning this speech...not!
