With all due respect,,,

I wish Ol Bill would remain in the backgound where he and mouth can do no harm. There were too many instances in the primary of him providing off the cuff soundbites for the trolls and youtube. He still hasen' figured out that everything gets recorded.

Don't get the Fuss

Obama ran a brilliant campaign and I wonder what all the fuss is about Bill. I guess the media just needs some kind of sensation and Clinton's have always been able to provide sensation.

The best role for Hillary and Bill rightnow is to get their large donors to donate to Obama. I'm not sure Bill would be an asset on the campaign trail.

This is Obama's time. The Clinton era is over!

Fear not Obama fans...

...without Obama's campaign following every word Clinton said to find something to take out of context in order to support the "race-baiting" meme, Bill Clinton will return to being the asset to the Democratic Party he has always been. It does not surprise me to hear that Bill Clinton is planning on supporting Obama. He is a class act who believes in the Democratic Party, not the crass opportunist that Obama's campaign has been painting him as. He would be well within his rights to refuse to even talk to Obama, given that Obama and Axelrod have destroyed a reputation for fairness that Clinton built over a lifetime, but he won't.

You may now return to saying what a bad President Clinton was (for balancing the budget, making taxes more fair, getting millions off welfare and into jobs, and bringing respect to the nation throughout most of the world) and insulting him (for starting wars for no reason... oh wait, make that "lying about getting a blow job").

What's really eating Bill

I'm fairly convinced that Bill Clinton's problem is his incredible sense of entitlement. He's a successful, recent President and I think Bill truly believes the Democratic party owed his wife the nomination and owed him better treatment than he deserved.

What's really eating Bill is that Obama is the real deal, he'll likely win the election in November, and the Clintons will no longer be the major players in their party. The man is an incredible narcissist who can't bear the idea of being out of the spotlight.

Good riddance to the Clintons and their hillbilly psychodrama.

Yes, There Will Be Partisans in Times of Darkness

There's little difference in their rise to the top, after all, given what there was for them to control in the matter.

Clinton benefited from his obscurity and inexperience, using his native intelligence to find a national audience. Obama used the same strategy but had the additional benefit of a rapidly changing demographic-with a new generation coming of age that carries the legacy of the 60's.

Clinton had to deal with a post Viet Nam generation that defaulted from the political process and forced him to his "centrist" position.

The distortion of their similarities largely results from the benefits to the media to stir up controversy and entice an electorate heavily influenced by the reactionary element to take sides.

The question that remains to be answered is how far Obama can push his new coalition to restore the nations honor and begin to serve its middle class rather than punish it.

@bernbart

Absolutely. The Clinton's should get off their race-baiting asses and get their supporter's to give money to support the man who says that they are obsolete phonies. I can't wait to see the fundraising letter for that request.

here's the problem, rumble

If President Clinton did that, I am sure he would be criticized by all sort of people for not supporting Obama. We don't want that to happen. Now that he is helping Obama, all the criticism of President Clinton is going to stop.

It's Funny...

Well, not really. I was reading a post the other day where someone said there was one thing that could be said about the Republicans and that was that they would never disrespect one of their own who has served as President. Democrats, or really Progressives that is, would eat one of their own if they thought it would serve the cause. Truer words were never writ.

Bill Clinton was President of the United States for 8 years. He was one of the only Democratic Presidents serving in the last 32 years. And, regardless of his failings then or now, he was a damn good president. He deserves ALL the respect that is due him for that service he gave to his country.

Instead of some of you dumping all the shit on Ol' Bill, how about dumping it back where it's deserved. At Bush & Co. And give some honor back to those who have served the Democratic cause. Maybe if we honored those who do that service, we'd have more of them.

Well...

I've always thought Obama got along with Bill way way better than he got along with Hilary. I think connecting with her was the harder of the two tasks.

Great! A Vote for Obama= a vote for Clintons.

Where are the progressives in the Democratic Party?

They most assuredly cannot be with Obama, who is everyday becoming more like MC Cain and the Clintonistas who have been running neck and neck with Bush Conservative supporters in trying to out do each others in supporting Bush.

They, the Clintons and their supporters have not one progressive move today or in their past that is or will be of any benfit to majority of US popualce.

Hillary and Bill Clinton supporters are in agreement with such as Pelosi, Reid, Reyes,Rockefeller and other members of the Gang of 8 who have pushed through every war and legislative, such as ant-environment and financial bailouts along with oil firms needs for the Bush Presidency and all are avowed AIPAC supporters no matter the cost of that support of economic or loss of US lives, so just where and the heck is the Progressive in their programs.

What we need is a complete break from Clintons, who are no more worthy of a high stature than were the carpet baggers of post civil war days and quite possibly of even less honor.

Obama and the democrats are fast degrading american progressive politics into to being nothing more than a race issue; As in, By electing a black man we can call ourselves progressives.

When Obama first mentioned change he was but parroting what the demso had called for in last election cycle but many liberal and progressives were very disapointd by the Democratic Party leadership, yes Hillary is one of most powerfull, afterwards and thought Obama meant we would change that politcal leaderships direction by electing him and instead, with every intention of not being politicly correct, , we now find Obama to be no more than what many conservatives said he was, the Uncle Tom needed by the democrats to take power away from the conservatives and end once and for all this Progressive Tom Foolery.

It seems that once again we get the lesser of two evils but the problem is the evils facing this nation will not be served by more of the same politics that let people such as that of Clintons and Bush supporters have suckered this nation into.

Beginning to look like Ron Paul is more progressive than either the repubs or democrats.
