Pay up? My ass!
We'll use that against Obama or McCain in 2012.
How much nicer it would be if both Clinton and Obama took strong stands against the that FISA bill that's... whaddya call it? Oh right, a betrayal of the constitution and their alleged values - that might make me pay some attention to either of them. Right now I am at the "Barack Obama is a douchebag, but I am voting for him anyway" stage. I really don't care about either of these candidates, but will certainly vote against McCain since *I* am not a douchebag.
Neither of them is getting my money though.
We all should have supported Hillary. At least her as President would have pissed off the right wing the most.
Nah, between Hillary and Obama I am voting for the lesser of two douchebags. I wanted Edwards, who is not too much of a douchebag, for a politician.
not one dime, not one positive word, until you oppose FISA.
Because of posts by Clinton supporters who the other day said no way would HRC accept help from Obama -- in Washington everything is quid pro quo - and any of us who think our candidate is different are mistaken - even if unity has a price here's hoping it leads to victory in November.
This man has bent over backwords to accomidate Hillary Clinton and he is still being attacked by her, yes bitter, supporters. I seriously doubt Hillary would go this far out of her way to accomidate Obama supporters who felt she should not have won. Obama doesn't owe these people anything. In a rational society, we vote for our candidates based on their poliices, not what's in their underwear. Obama shouldn't have to do any more for these people. Either they will make a rational decision based on actual policy, or they will hold onto their anger and vote against their own best interest.
I am a Hillary Clinton supporter and have been angry for months: for the way she was vilified by the MSM and her loss of the Democratic primary. I had decided I would vote for Obama in November but not particularly support him during the campaign. However, when watching the news last night and hearing Dobson and Perkins call themselves "Orthodox Christians" (new verbiage, I think) and seeing some of the terms on which the Republicans and the religious right are going to go after Obama, I realized what this election is really about. This is our chance--all of us who have been denied full enjoyment of all this great country of ours has offer--to depose of the white guys who've been in charge (and screwed it up) forever. Call me a Pollyanna, but I knew at that moment that Obama can and does represent me, and I became his supporter. I will do anything to keep another white man out of the White House.
And there's gonna be another half million corpses in the Middle East----where does their hate for us come from?
Nearly a week ago I received an email from a friend in the Denver area. She was and is a supporter of Hillary Clinton and talks to me via email and forum posts on what is up with HRC even though she knows that I am not exactly a Clinton supporter. Anyway, she knew at least a week ago (if not sooner) that any money being solicited by Hillary Clinton to be used to retire leftover campaign debt would be used first to pay debts to vendors and that any money she had loaned to her own campaign was not a priority, that the loans made to her own campaign were being looked at as something of an investment that may pay future dividends and if not, well, that was OK.
So the bottom line here is that it really isn't that interesting that Barack Obama isn't asking his supporters to help the Clintons recover a portion of their own personal wealth. Why would he when Hillary herself isn't asking for such a thing from her own supporters?
Better reportage, please.
I realize it's nice to help some one in need but really now...are the Clintons in need again?? I doubt seriously the Clintons are in bad financial shape.. They entered the White House in 92 with nothing...now they file 100 million asset sheets! ! Okay Obama if the party needs unity by relieving the debt of a loser do it...Lets not make it a hallmark of your future administration...money wasted down a rat hole..
Where are Clinton's army of women? Do they not still support her? Where are the PUMA's? If she retires her debt, she can start running for 2012 NOW!!! Wouldn't that be great? Come on females, support you candidate.
I can understand Hillary's silence, I mean with her support of big money backing pols, but Obama? It's nauseating that he hasn't come out big here. Isn't this his schtick? "The Constitution must prevail"?!? What a crock. Moving to the middle doesn't mean selling out to the right. That he remarks that he'll try to remove the immunity aspect is loathsome. How about" I think it's a stinky bill that once again erodes your 4th amendment rights, and the immunity clause is further proof that Bush doesn't want jail time once this puppy gets to the courts". Now that's a forth amendment advocate that'll get my $$$. Not another red cent till he changes his position to one that resembles the guy I voted for in the NY State primary. Not a friggin red cent...
Party unity? Sen. Obama needs to talk to his own supporters about that one.
Here's what DADAGUYX had to say to help the healing process: "When the fall comes, we will have a strong result. BO will be PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA. Then we will be accounting for WHO HELPED and WHO DIDN'T HELP. If YOU HELPED, the door will be open. Your issues will be heard. Your problems will be solved. If YOU DID NOT HELP, NO ONE WILL GIVE A SHIT about you."
Dadaguyx, the last person I recall talking that way was Richard Nixon when he ordered his staff to compile a list of his enemies so that they could be punished.
If Obama had lost the nomination, I can imagine the reaction from his supporters if they were told to fall in line behind Hillary immediately or they could take their issues and go to hell.
