The need to manufacture an identity for Cindy McCain that appears 'normal' and 'authentic' when her normal life is very different than most people.
Yes, I agree. Like I said, she is (they are) bluedbloods and can relate little to Joe Everyman, so they fake it by releasing a ridiculous "Cindy McCain Cookbook" with a bunch of recipes that are obviously not hers, but were lifted from the food network and the likes of Rachael Ray. It is indicative of the fraud that is the McCains and is another example of the GOP Myths that Gleen Greenwald wrote about in GAH.
What I think is most amusing though, is that another GOP candidate released a real cookbook (and does so yearly) before McCain did, and all I saw was an attempt to try and steal the idea and maybe some of his thunder. Ron Paul. Except Dr. Paul's wife actually cooks and has real family recipes.
