Good Lord!
Does anyone at Salon copy edit before you post things? I stopped reading after the third error.

Rotting Corpses and the GOP
It's unbelievably heartening when I hear die-hards savage their own in the GOP. God knows they deserve it but I never expected such honesty. I guess the real conservatives in the GOP just can't stomache the nausea-inspiring incompetence from the Bush administration and its supporters in the Congress either. Hey, I know the feeling well. It's been there for the better part of 7 years.

Truer than he knows
Hunter went on to say if the Republican Party doesn't change its leadership it "will pollute the political environment to toxic levels and create an epidemic that could damage the country for generations to come."
Of course, this has been true for decades now.

"The idea of zombies handcuffed to a corps might not make much sense.."
unless your Freudian slip meant the Washington Press Corps. In that case it would be startlingly accurate.

There Are Many Real Zombies (Alive) Who Always Vote Republican. Absolutely!
Check out the "congregations" of the TV evangelists like Hagee, Parsely, and dozens of others. There you will see and hear real, honest-to-goodness, contemporary ZOMBIES in the USA today. They have no minds of their own, they always obey the orders of their "pastor", regularly send money they can hardly afford to waste to their "ministries", buy whatever insane crap is sold to them by their "pastors" (including such things as "mana" and "miracle" water), fully expect to be the only ones to benefit from the rapture - - sometime soon, AND ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN, as per instructions.
You can't find a more apt example of a zombie in any 1950's horror movie. They are here in our midst.

George Will
also appears to understand the potential of an Obama presidency. Observing this natinal political transformation is interesting, indeed.

It isn't the leadership that needs changing.
It's the whole concept of the party. It's the "rugged individualist" myth that they've been foisting off on America for the last 150 years. The myth that makes it OK to look down on anyone who isn't in the upper middle class because it's their fault. The myth that says that unions aren't necessary because individuals should negotiate with large companies on an "equal" footing. The careful choosing of the new "other " for the less affluent voters to revile so they won't notice that they're voting against their own best interests.
It's the "hooray for me and F*ck you" mindset that we were taught to dispise in the military and then learned that the civilians who most often pretended to "support the troops" were putting forward as the American Way(tm).
My sincerest hope is that this party folds up and dissipears in the next 8 years. America will be better off without it.

calling the kettle...
Pretty funny, a zombie likening his brethren to the undead.

Grand Olde Poddy
It is, it already has, and it will. Curse, scourge, and epidemic, all in one.
