I called it.
It's a welcome move, and if the report is true, it will show many people that her heart is really and truly in the right place. It will, once and for all, rid us of the trolls here who say she could still win, and it's okay for her to stay in all the way to the convention. She obviously disagrees.
If she truly digs in and fights to get Barack elected, I'm willing to forgive everything that's happened so far (but I won't forget).
4 months too late is better than never, I guess
I like that she stayed in until the last primary. It showed commitment and strength. And she will bow out and support Obama.
If Obama has half that class, he'll do ok as president.
Even then, I'll be skeptical. Hil will find some way to stay annoyingly relevant.
And both contenders have all kinds of class and talent.
Finally we can all stop gawking at the slow motion train wreck that has becomes Hillary Clinton's political career.
Just in case she changes her mind again, I'll wait until to Friday to celebrate. Too bad she did not show as much dignity and grace as Obama did last night.
She put on a good fight, in spite of the fact she had some very bad advice. I was so unimpressed by every Hilary adviser I saw on TV.
Her and Bill should take a nice vacation on a remote island now.
Poor Hillary, she just needs a little more time to digest the reality that she lost, yet somehow she thinks she should be answering the White House phone at 3 a.m. If this campaign has proven anything it is that she is incapable of accepting reality and immediately dealing with it.
What does Hillary think: that if she concedes on Friday afternoon - traditional day for document dumps - that no one will notice?
Classless to the very end. A surprise? Sadly, no.
If, indeed, Hillary Clinton withdraws on Friday and endorses Obama in a sincere and convincing way, Warmonger McLame is in immediate and deep doo-doo- which is his natural habitat, and exactly where we want him. I will not begrudge her the three days (is there a resurrection theme here?), although it did bewilder me last evening when she did not concede the obvious. That's okay. She can make it right. Let's see what she does. It must be without even a hint of equivocation, must be magnanimous, and must be believable. She might study Obama's speech from last evening if she'd like to see an example of what that looks like. Now, let's go kick some fascist butt. Hard. With both feet. jeff
(AGI) - Washington, June 4 - Barack Obama, certain of his nomination as Democrat candidate, announced that if he becomes president, he will "eliminate" the "threat" the Iranian nuclear programme poses to Israel and the Middle East. He said this to an audience of the Israel-Iran association. "There is no bigger threat for Israel or for stability in the region than Iran" said Obama, adding that "Iran poses such a serious and real threat that it will be my objective to eliminate that threat".
Suckers!
And she and Pat B were agreeing. Except Chris Mathews told Pat B "I know what you are doing!". Joan then said: "what am I doing i.e. (agreeing with Pat).
What you were doing Joan!!!! was helping Obama, just as Pat B was doing by his comments (YOU WERE AGREEING WITH!!)by encouraging this hold out.
Have you not been able to figure that out? I know you are an enlightned person. Seriously.
Hillary endorsing Obama:
"There's no reason not to vote for him...as far as I know."
If anything, Hillary will likely suspend her campaign. It's a technicality under McCain/Finegold because by suspending she can still raise money and put it towards paying off her campaign debt.
She will probably endorse Obama as well and they might have a few events together at some point in the future but that's about it.
We could at least attempt to be graceful about this. Gloating isn't going to help beat McCain.

That's what I kept thinking last night. How could she claim to be ready from day one and be the only one capable of answering the phone at 3AM when she had to take several days to understand the implication of Barack going over the delegate threshold and the primary season ending? It's just one more failure of leadership during the campaign that demonstrates how deficient her leadership abilities really are. She clearly has a great many strengths, but leadership is just not one of them. She's a much better bureaucrat than a politician.
Salon really does need a filter where readers can filter out designated posters. I think that it is only going to get worse now that we are in the general campaign. There are a lot of very intelligent and funny postings on Salon and I usually learn as much from the postings as from the articles. However, I am seeng too many postings that are the political equivalent of the penis elongation e-mails. I can get those things out of my view and I'd like to do the samething done here. I'd even be willing to work with Salon IT guys to get it done.

He said the military option is "on the table"

Is this surprising? The 'media' got their candidate. He'll advance their aganda, but won't have any knowledge or experience. His job is to keep the people placated.
I'm glad I didn't fall for it. But now what choice do we have? he's still beter than McCain.
but in a way I kind of liked that she hung on so long. I prefer Obama, and I'm not 100% fond of her tenacity, but I think it could be seen as sending a message that dems won't give up so quickly this time.
I agree with the other poster - a well done & graceful exit would let her stay classy and enhance the dems chances in general.
