well that tears it!
I can't handle his smugness anymore! How dare he treat Clinton in such a manner! He's insulting women everywhere! Florida! Michigan! Rove's Electoral Map! Et cetera Errata!!
I'm voting McCain now!
(there, now no one else has to say it)
-
The arrogance!
Karl Rove says Hillary is better and Obama has the nerve to go ahead and win!?!?
I think the FL-MI deal has already been struck, or at least the most CLinton-favoring solution has been taken off the table. He also probably has those Super Delegates in hand, waiting for public announcement. And Hillary is not winning PR, SD, MT, and unpledged supers by the 72% needed to catch him.
His comments here, and the backtracking of Ed Rendell lead me to believe that anyway.
-
Well that's just true
I mean isn't it? He's GOING to reach 2025 by Tuesday. Probably before that really, more likely after Puerto Rico.
So he will have won. Then we'll have to re-adjust the rules for Hillary and the Rules Committee. But even given that following Montana and South Dakota Obama will have well over 2110 or even 2215. So what's the problem?
Barack Obama will have DEFINITELY won by Tuesday. The question is what will the Party and what will Hillary Clinton do then? My guess is drag it out to August and the Convention. Just enough superdelegates will remain gutless enough to do nothing.
-
Can you believe the NERVE of this guy?!!!!11!!1!!1!!1
I mean, how DARE he declare himself the presumptive nominee just because he's won the correct number of delegates, superdelegates, and the popular vote.
Pure sexism! This is an affront to women everywhere! Didn't he know that Hillary was destined by God herself to be the Democratic nominee!
Well, that clinches it. I'm voting for the pro-life and pro-war candidate who called his wife a trollop and a cunt in front of reporters. I am a feminist afterall.
-
Shame! Shame on Obama!
How dare Obama employ the unfair tactic of MATHEMATICAL CALCULATION to steal the nomination from its rightful inheritor in Hillary Rodham Clinton! Such cynical triangulation! Such arrogant number crunching! Such anti-feminist number using. I bet Axelrod instigated the strategy to undermine the women of the country b/c as that feminist icon, Barbie, once told us: "Math is hard!"
Obama and is minions are attacking American femininity itself with this insidious algebraic (and b/c the Arabs invented this, it proves his pro-Islamic tendencis) strategy and I can't take his dividing...errr..divisiveness this anymore. I'm gonna vote McCain. At least he thinks that ALL Americans are stupid, not just women.

@Gez
I guess we Texans think alike. You beat me by THAT much! lol

Shorter 2008 primary coverage...
..."Hey, why don't you and her fight?"
-
@lordbyron
debaser beat the both of us.
-
Those Damned Obamatons!
Now they're even stealing Clintonites' irate posts! Is nothing sacred?
(Got to admit, the posts were pitch-perfect parodies.)
-
Bitter Clintonites: Here is what your McCain votes will be for...
1) The erosion of our civil liberties in the name of security will continue.
2) More young American men pointlessly dying in Iraq.
3) Thousands more Iraqi civilians dead.
4) Pro-life Supreme Court judges will be appointed.
5) Scores of young people energized by the Obama campaign will become as apathetic and cynical about politics as they were before. Probably more so because it will become clear that it was sour-grapes Clinton supporters who handed McCain the White house.
But hey, all this pales compared to us "Obama-boys" learning our lessons about opposing Hillary's God-given destiny, right?
Go ahead and vote for McCain. I just want you to be damn sure what you are voting for.
-
Heh.
Oh yeah, its all fun and games before the robots come!
-
A couple of things:
He will have the delegates so what's the problem? He's just speaking a fact, not an opinion. Switch the numbers around and what would you think Billory would be saying? Come on. Give me a break. He's run a better campaign, raised more money and believe it or not some woman even voted for him in the primaries. Billory's claims won't hold up in a general election. The vast majority (but not all) of the woman who voted for her will back Obama. They'd better if they want to have the access they now own to their reproductive rights intact or don't want their sons massacred in Iran.
Also once the supers weigh in in she'll have to bow. Delusional or not, her husband will have to go back to the speech circuit for his millions.

What a bunch of elitists!
Let the joyous news be spread The wicked old witch at last is dead!
She's gone where the Clintons go, below below below
Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out!

@gezelligtexas
Why do you insist on blaming everybody but Obama for his faults? He hasn't made a case for electing him. Period. His entire campaign has been designed to inspire kids and deride Clinton. People over 40 have not been impressed with his empty calls for "Unity". Clinton screwed up. She was running a general election campaign during the primary. She focused on the states where Dems had a chance of winning, leaving the ones where we didn't for Obama. This resulted in his getting more delegates, even as the vote was nearly tied. She and her advisor's didn't do the right math. Obama screwed up, too. He and his advisor's decided to run flat out against Clinton, acting as if what happened as a result didn't matter. They divided the party and alienated a lot of people. You can try to make that my fault, but I wasn't the one going around accusing Clinton of throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Obama and suggesting that she was running a dirty campaign. I would have happily voted for Obama for President, if he had shown himself to be an honorable man, but McCain has shown more character than this guy (and that's saying something). I wouldn't vote for Obama for dog catcher. Well, maybe dog catcher. He might learn some humility if he had to work at a real job.

Well, gosh.
Looks like this comment thread managed to shoot its wad before the Clinton Supporters could even arrive. Oh well, show's over. Let's head off for the pub.

SAt & Tuesday will tell
The DNC set is meeting on SAT and it looks like they are going to follow the rules an only seat 50% of the MI & FL delegates or all the delegates with only .5 vote. As of this AM Obama only needs 44 delegates to go to reach the DNC official number of 2026. If he only get 50% of the votes in PR, MT, SD he will have it. Hillary is 200 delegates away from the magic number.
Hillary's PAC, womencount is sending people to the DNC to deonstarte and disrupt the ruel committtee meeeting on Sat. Obama is asking his supporters to be positive and wokr on the campaign and not protest. Maybe the divisive Clinton supporters will push even more delegates towards Obama.
Nancy Pelosi was quoted in the SF Chronicle Newspaper this AM saying she will intervine, to stop this from going to the convention. She says it will be over Tuesday. She has pledged to support whoever have the most pledged delegates... that will be Obama.
Meanwhile the Clintons are going around saying she has the most popular vote. The Clinton campaign arrives at their number by adding all of the FL & MI votes, and eliminating caucus states. That bull may work with uninformed voters, but super delegate know that the Democrats have always picked their candidates based on pledged delegates, from both caucus and primaries.
Super delegates have dripped in daily for Obama, but not Clinton, I think you will see a flood for Obama on June 4 if not before.
Let the General election begin, with a dynamic, and positive, candidate... Obama!!!
