Letters to the Editor

CNN may have jumped the gun in its reporting; both campaigns deny any negotiations to end the race, and staffers worry the network was wrong.

  • Ah, Hillary.

She never misses an opportunity to take a potshot.

  • Don't do it

I don't think HRC would be a good candidate for VP. I don't think she complements the ticket and she has significant negatives with the electorate.

  • A good journalist...

...would have combined both of these articles about this rumor into one. That is, rather than just write down what you read in an article, you might consider digging a little deeper, as you eventually did, and posting a more complete story.

    Just sayin'.

  • Hillary:"why should I drop out?"

how about because you have lost..?

  • Ack!!!

"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it."

Man, I don't know how many times one candidate can say things that are so monumentally tin-eared! "MLK needed LBJ", "Hard-working, White Americans", "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina" (granted that was her husband)...I know there's more but that's just off the top of my head.

You want to know why she lost this thing? I think the fact that she's epically (epicly?) tin-eared is a great place to start.

(kindly note that I continue to give Clinton the benefit of the doubt as to her motivations for these gaffes)

  • My frined from the UK

who teaches political science at Oxford is visiting me this week and she said:"there are many things I could say about Hillary Clinton, but nothing comes more readily to mind than she must be the most bloody insincere woman in the world."

  • I believe Hillary

It's pretty obvious that there's no discussions going on about her being Obama's VP, as she's now going with the strategy of dog-whistling for one of her insane supporters to shoot him before the convention.

  • Clinton Waiting for the Worst

debaser - I agree she is tinned ear, especially for someone who is supposed to be such a savy politician. My jaw dropped when I saw that comment on Yahoo. I think she just nailed the coffin shut on her chances of getting the VP slot. Who would want her waiting in the wings with thoughts lack that on the mind.

  • Following up on paulpsd7...

This morning when Steve Benen blogged about this issue, he brought up how thinly sourced it was and how it could easily turn out to be bogus.

    http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/15636.html

Mr. Benen recapped the report, but then analyzed it. Mr. Koppelman, typically, simply recapped.

Why was Benen the temporary fill-in when he's clearly superior?

  • Solutions For The Deranged

I only see Nancy Pelosi powerful, smart, and tough enough, with the stature and skill to end this primary dance marathon.

I don't believe the campaigns are talking to (at?-yes) each other.

I don't think they like each other.

    I don't they'll agree on anything.

    It will require a mediary.

Pelosi would be best. Dean can handle the machinery. Pelosi will consensus the terms.

Mrs NY Senator's assassination reference coffined her own candidacy.

Obama shouldn't be required to lend her any dignity.

Her money bagmen can seek down ticket hosts for their bounty.

Mrs NY (with Ill Bill) is the biggest obstacle to Party success in November.

A power drunken drain on the attention.

Way past redemption in this election cycle.

No chance to VP (which is the

silver shroud over the pine box of her intentions.)

And it's a shame she nearly ruined a day where McCain was doddering around yapping after Obama like Pa Kettle on Nodoze.

I'd love to be covering the AZ running mate auditions. Wonder who'll shortlist?

I have some contenders who, if still alive, would spruce up the Summer nap fest.

    Dan Quayle?

    Anita Bryant?

    Lynn Swann?

    Liza Minelli?

    Karl Rove?

    Rosie O'Donnell?

    Roger Clemens?

    Joe Scarborough?

    Kay Bailey Hutchison?

    Jeb Bush?

    Should be fun!

And then, Obama can choose Claire McCaskill.

    Winner!

    Good night, Shrillary.

    Good night Ill.

And Mrs Calabash too, if only you were.
