  • Keep it up

This is the kind of hitting back Democrats need to do early and often, especially when it comes to reckless war rhetoric like Lieberman's (which is really, as Biden points out, that of Bush, Cheney, McCain, and the neo-cons who still whisper to them. It's really quite a bit more important than scoring points politically, but it is about that, too.

To me, it's also the turd in the punchbowl of adding HRC to the Veep ticket -- she voted for war. It's going to be hard to keep hitting them on this with war-enablers on the bill.

  • Hammering the GOP Stooges

I read the op-ed this morning and was very impressed with Sen Bidens ability to crush Liebermans horrid tract from earlier in the week, and leave the trio(McBush, Bush, Lieberman) naked in the paucity of their foreign policy.

If the democratic nominee is looking for the best for State, look no further.

  • It’s About Time …

The Democrats stopped hiding in the corner every time a Republican (or Lieberman) talks ‘national security’. They need to keep up this line of attack.

  • Biden rocks

I've always kinda liked this guy, he exudes this sort of elder hipster vibe that's just plain cool.

Calling out Bush's rhetoric as "bullshit"? Can't much more awesome than that

    :)

  • Biden

Biden was my second choice for President after Edwards. It's a shame that the debates are run by media monkeys who are, at best, barely capable of flinging rhetorical poo at the candidates. Two things seem clear to me from listening to Biden speak. First, he doesn't really prepare his remarks, or he doesn't stick to what's prepared. Secondly, though, is that he really does know what he's talking about. For a good example, listen to the debate the NPR had for the Democratic candidates.

  • You can't criticize Democrat foreign policy

Because no such thing exists. They don't actually offer up anything besides:

    1) Play Nice

    2) Whatever you're for I'm against

Biden sort of makes Joe's case. He doesn't explain what their policies are, he makes raspberry noises and says nanny-nanny-poo-poo. Which is, in case you didn't notice, exactly what sunk his candidacy. Being "awesome" is painfully short of being a credible candidate outside of the angry populist twits who lick this stuff up.

  • You can't criticize Republican foreign policy

Because no such thing exists. They don't actually offer up anything besides:

    1) Make war

    2) Whatever you're for I'm against

Lieberman sort of makes Biden's case. He doesn't explain what their policies are, he makes raspberry noises and says nanny-nanny-poo-poo. Which is, in case you didn't notice, exactly what sunk his candidacy...

    etc. etc.

  • Biden has short oars

He can row as fast as he wants to, but his oars are too short to even touch the water. So he's going through the motions without any result, which is probably the first line in any Democratic manifesto that exist. Huff, flail, and address nothing of substance.

Joe Lieberman is a fanatical Zionist who wants the US to next attack Iran on behalf of Israel. And it looks to me like Bush43 and Cheney are doing absolutely everything they can do to bring about such an attack.

I don't think that Biden or any Democrat has the balls to state this simple fact: ISRAEL IS A FOREIGN COUNTRY.

Just say it. And let it resonate. Not the 51st State, not a "sister" nation -- a foreign country. Why is our foreign policy so heavily influenced by a foreign country?

Another rousing to-arms from the WSJ and another tiny puff of steam from the Democrats. Oh boy.

  • Thank you for making my case "Jon"

When push comes to shove all you have is name calling. There is no Democrat foreign policy. There never will be an "Obama Doctrine" because they'd rather be tolerated than respected. But if you have a handy-dandy pamphlet that outlines the Democrat foreign policy I'd like to see it. Or just scream about Ned Lamont some more. That works too.

  • lieberman

The reason Joe Lieberman is no obnoxious is the same reason Falwell and Robertson are obnoxious: too much religion.

  • Nonsense, Gordon

Jewitania is our secret overlord. They implant RFID chips in all our heads to read our thoughts then they give that intel to the Space Reptiles and the Illuminati. Didn't you get the memo?

  • Didn't you get the memo?

I'm not as fluent in Robotic as I would like to be.

  • @Electro Robot

When push comes to shove all you have is name calling.

Electro, I have to hand it to you. Your dogged ignorance of irony in your statements is amazing. Here you've written thousands of posts, not one with a whit of substance and all just purely insulting around a single strawman argument (liberals want all jews dead). But still you have the gall to complain about such behavior. Incredible.

There is no Democrat foreign policy.

I know that informing yourself about something before you make a definitive statement about it isn't really your game, but just so you know, Obama has laid out a well thought-out foreign policy:

    http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/

Now, no doubt you'll look down that list and see some things you find unrealistic. You're very much entitled to disagree with Obama's points. But while you do, keep in mind that you've been supporting the most disastrous foreign policy in US history for the past 8 years. So, before you claim that Obama's plan to talk to Iran's leaders is a naive plan, please give some consideration to the idea that if we kill hundreds of thousands of citizens (mostly teenagers and younger) of a country that never was any threat to us, that the result will be for the rest of that country's neighbors to lay down their weapons and walk arm-in-arm with us into the future.

It's usually around this time that you crawl back under your rock. Adios.

  • orbitboy: sssshhhh

Orbitboy, Electro's single shred of credibility (in his own mind, only) lies in the fact that he's never come out and said "I'm a republican." Like many republicans with even a smattering of self-awareness, he's too ashamed to do this, and realizes that such an admission would undercut all his arguments, as it has done for Elephantman and Shooter.

When he uses words like "democrat" as an adjective, he's accidentally broadcasting his true affiliation. Pointing this out is in bad taste, like telling him his fly is down.

Sorry, Electro, please tell us again about how the liberals feel about Jews.
