  • Huge cracks appear in Hillary Clinton

She is still being held together like a jigsaw puzzle but could float apart at any moment.

... or was that the earth's icecaps?

  • With the context clarified, the next question goes to

Obama spokesperson Bill Burton - can you clarify your remark

"Senator Clinton's statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign."

Why exactly does it have no place in this campaign? Can you spell that out for us? Are you implying that Senator Clinton was intentionally exploiting fears of assassination? Or are you Obama folks too cool to spell out the slanders you're trying to peddle? Why else would a discussion about the timing of past Democratic primaries not be relevant to this campaign?

  • It's Still Inappropriate

Hillary needs to keep herself in check. I almost feel sorry for her if this is how far gone she is, but it's too much. Calm down sister.

  • She made the same reference to Time in March

And in the same context. I have no idea why it was okay then, but not okay now, except that Obama's supporter's have become more willing to demonize Clinton. It's time for Obama to call off the attack dogs. Attacking Clinton for every statement that can possibly be misinterpreted is damaging the party. He has won - he needs just let the rest of the votes be counted and then accept the nomination. He's not helping himself by continuing to play (or tolerate) "gotcha" politics against members of his own party. It's time to stop just talking about unity and actually show that he is willing to work toward it.

  • Why not just hire a hitman, Hillary?

She knows the implication of everything she says, she just doesn't want to pay the price for it.

  • Hillary's continued campaign to blackmail her way to White House

will have to go down as one of the greatest acts of political suicide in history.

  • what's the big deal?

To hear Obama followers cry out, you'd think Clinton was at speaking before a huge crowd, calling for Obama's assassination. Instead, she was with a small group of people citing historical events that argue why the race should continue.

Grow up. Kennedy WAS assassinated, and it WAS tragic.

Obama followers are just hunting for pity and victimization.

  • What was she thinking?

Hillary was right in saying that RFK's death demonstrates that fights for the nomination can go all the way to the end of primary season. However, it was a mental lapse on her part to bring it up given the death threats against Obama. How is it going to look now if someone does kill him after these comments? It also can cause others to wonder if the possibility of his death is one of the reasons she's staying in the race. Surely not, but she's inadvertently opened the door to these speculations by her comments. Considering that the party lost in 1968, I would never have brought it up at all as an example.

  • Real classy Hillary

THIS is the problem with wanting to win at any cost. Those of you who kept going around touting her as a fighter, and ridiculing the rest of us for saying there could ever possibly be anything wrong with fighting to the end no matter what consequences be damned, THIS is precisely the problem.

Furthermore it goes to what many of us have said about demonstrating actual guts and her inability to do so when it's time to ever apologize for everything. She apologized to Robert Kennedy (who's dead) and the Kennedy family, but not Barack Obama. If "anything can happen" as she keeps reminding us, in order for her to get the nomination who exactly would it be "happening" to other than Obama? Just apologize to Barack already Hillary and get going.

Finally I think this was a pre-determined attempt to re-gain her support with some of her female base, as Hillary knew the press would jump on her for this and that same faction would jump to her defense, no matter how wrong she was, like they always do.

Also I'm of the Rachel Maddow school of thought. She wants to take this to the convention. Comments like these, and Hillary Clinton's complete inability to go a week without doing something so far below the bounds of common decency, is the reason why some people keep trying to ask her to either campaign like someone with some actual morality or leave the race. She's shown conclusively she wants to drag the Party down. It's time to step in.

  • I LOVE it!!

Clinton makes one monumental verbal gaffe (let's be honest here, that was a TITANIC slip of the tongue. I know she didn't mean that she hopes Obama gets shot, but it's incredibly, incredibly tone-deaf) and her supporters here turn it around to play victim over this gaffe?

    AWEsome!!!

    You kids RULE!

  • @BKHoosier

If I tell you I really think your wife's good-looking and a lot of people die, would you feel offended? Why? Because your wife's good-looking and a lot of people do die. Mind if I watch your TV? I like these new big screens.

  • Isn't Clinton

the smartest woman in the world?

  • food taster

At least 3 commentators on CNN including David Gergen have suggested that if Barak chooses Hillary as a running mate, he should get a food taster. Her comment was tasteless and given that she said it before in March ... not exactly accidental. For her everything is a calculation.

  • Predictable

My husaband predicted that Clinton would make such a reference, because she is waiting for the unthinkable to happen, merely biding her time.

I said the thought that she was that conniving was incredible..as in lacking credulity.

He pointed out to me this evening that he wins this one.

    Amazing.

    Wow.

How are we spinning this comment to make it kosher?

  • What was she thinking?

Hillary seems to have gone over the edge. She has NO chance of this getting this nomination. She lost another super delegate to Obama today. He only need to 56 more delegates to get to 2025. Even if they seat MI & Fl she doe sot have enough to pass him.

I'm not sure what her strategy is at this pint, besides trying to sabatage Obama's chances in Nov.

Her statement was outrageous. She is starting to remind me of Bush.... I have to turn off the TV when she comes on.
