"I thought Kentucky was coal mine central. Whatever."
I've posted this previously, but KY is extremely racist. One of my coworkers -- an extremely intelligent guy -- told me flat out that he would never vote for a black man, and he didn't know of anyone in KY who would. [Obviously, there are a few.]
His reason was that a black man would have his own agenda, and that would mainly be working FOR blacks. An interesting reason, but (a) would that be so horrible if blacks in the U.S. became "more equal," and (b)unfortunately, blue collar conservatives routinely vote for Republicans and against their own interests. So an administration that's working AGAINST you is what's been happening in the last 8 years -- unless you're a corporate billionaire.
