Also, I don't think it was cheap having him on
Matthews doesn't call all the shots. I'm sure you know this. They have to fill the schedules with people that want to talk about subjects and that issue came up that day, I'm sure that scheduling conflicts with people more knowledgeable of the history were probably the answer. But think about it this way, if you needed an "expert" quickly, wouldn't a radio talk show host be someone to check out? Do you think if he had Rush Limbaugh on there he wouldn't know what Chamberlain did? Of course Rush has his own problems but he wouldn't make the mistake of not knowing the history of the issue. Kevin James is a hack, plain and simple. I've seen him on the show before talking about primary election issues but I doubt he'll be invited back after this. I'm sure Matthews already told this to his producer.
You can't create a perfect talk show but I think MSNBC should be given some credit. That shouting match yesterday is rare to see on MSNBC compared to FOX and somewhat with CNN. FOX is horrible with talking heads trying to get their point across through screaming at one another. Through MSNBC you can at least hear different points being discussed.
